Medior/Senior Database Administrator - SQL Server

For a leading healthcare organisation in Brussels, we are looking for a Medior/Senior Database Administrator to join a small and specialised DBA team within a large and complex IT environment.

The database environment relies heavily on Microsoft SQL Server, with Shell scripting playing an important role in the day-to-day management and automation of the environment.

Your responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining SQL Server databases

• Monitoring and optimising database performance

• Troubleshooting and resolving database issues

• Supporting the availability and continuity of the database environment

• Writing and maintaining Shell scripts for administration and automation

• Working closely with system engineers and other technical teams

• Contributing to the continuous improvement of the database environment

• Participating in an on-call rotation, approximately one week every four weeks
  
  

Your profile

• 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server

• Strong Shell scripting experience

• Experience working with scripting and automation in a database environment

• Experience in a large, complex or business-critical IT environment is highly valued

• Experience with Sybase ASE is a plus, but not required

• Able to work independently and take responsibility

• Mature, reliable and comfortable working in a small technical team

• Willing to participate in the on-call rotation

• Fluent in English; Dutch or French are not required
