Our Bingo unit is looking for a proactive Database Engineer with exceptional analytical thinking and multitasking skills.

Your influential mission. You will...

• Support production, development, and test database environments.
• Collaborate with the team to design, build, and scale database solutions for growth, security, and resilience.
• Assist development and testing teams with the rollout of scheduled releases.
• Plan, implement, and monitor database deployments and upgrades.
• Monitor database performance and carry out performance analysis, load testing, and tuning.
• Support Oracle-to-Postgres data migrations.
• Develop complex queries, extract data, and create bespoke reports to support business needs.
• Identify and implement improvements and automation across database and development processes.
• Perform DBA-related tasks as needed to support the stability of our environments.

Components for success. You...

• Ideally, bring 4+ years of relevant experience as a Database Engineer or in a similar database-focused role. Strong candidates with less experience will also be considered.
• Have hands-on production database experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
• Have strong SQL skills, including experience with PL/SQL as well as shell scripting.
• Can work confidently with reporting, complex querying, data extracts, and performance troubleshooting.
• Have experience using and implementing database monitoring tools.
• Understand zero-downtime database deployments.
• Bring strong logical and analytical thinking, close attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Communicate well, work collaboratively, take initiative, and follow tasks through to completion.
• Use English confidently in day-to-day work.

DATABASE TEAM
Join our experienced Postgres and Oracle database team supporting Playtech's online entertainment platform. You will maintain Production, Staging, Load Test, and Development database environments across production support, new projects, data extracts, and data migration initiatives. Experience with physical or logical data migrations is highly advantageous. Our highly transactional OLTP databases require strong performance-tuning expertise, including SQL tuning, indexing and partitioning strategies, and operating-system optimization. The team also supports critical data extracts and reports relied upon by internal and external customers in their daily work.
