Role Description The Deal Origination Partner – ASEAN M&A is a contract, remote role responsible for sourcing and evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities across the ASEAN region. Day-to-day activities include identifying potential targets and investors, conducting preliminary financial and strategic assessments, and building and maintaining relationships with corporate clients, private equity firms, and other deal stakeholders. The role involves coordinating information gathering, preparing concise deal teasers and investment summaries, and supporting early-stage due diligence to determine deal feasibility. The partner will collaborate closely with internal advisory teams, contribute to transaction pipeline reporting, and ensure that origination activities align with the firm’s strategic priorities and ethical standards.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends, business models, and transaction structures.
  • Solid understanding of finance and investments, including valuation concepts, capital structures, and M&A fundamentals.
  • Experience in due diligence, with exposure to reviewing financial, commercial, and operational information.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis relevant to evaluating potential deals.
  • Familiarity with ASEAN market dynamics and regulatory environments is highly beneficial.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; additional ASEAN languages are an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced qualifications (e.g., CFA, MBA) are a plus.
  • Self-directed work style with the ability to manage a remote, contract-based workload and meet agreed timelines.
