Show job description

We light up houses. You'll light up the map.

Back in 2010, Trimlight invented permanent, programmable, color-changing LED lighting and put holiday ladders out of a job. Today a patented channel system, the Trimlight Edge app, and a lifetime product warranty back more than 340 authorized dealers across the U.S. and Canada. Every one of those dealers started as a stranger who heard about us, got curious, and said yes.

That "got curious, said yes" part is your job. The map still has gaps. You're going to fill them.

The gig

The Dealer Growth Marketing Strategist owns the top of our dealer-growth funnel: finding the lighting contractors, tradespeople, and would-be business owners who should be running a Trimlight territory, getting their attention, and warming them up until they're ready to talk to Dealer Success.

You'll build the campaigns, write the copy, run the HubSpot machinery, and read the numbers that tell you what's working. Then you'll do more of that and less of the other thing. You report to the Director of Marketing, work shoulder to shoulder with the Dealer Success team, and sit on a lean, fast marketing crew where nobody waits for permission to ship.

This is a builder role. If you like a blank territory map and a HubSpot workflow editor more than a 40-slide strategy deck, keep reading.

What you'll actually do

Own the funnel, top to handoff. The prospective-dealer funnel is yours end to end: awareness, inquiry, qualification, handoff. You set monthly volume and quality targets by territory and hit them. You keep a prioritized territory gap map with Dealer Success leadership and point your firepower at the critical and major gaps first. You define the marketing-to-recruitment handoff (lead scoring, routing, response SLAs, follow-up cadence) so no qualified prospect ever goes cold.

Know exactly who we're looking for. You'll build and keep sharpening Trimlight's ideal dealer profile from top-performer surveys, interviews, and CRM data, then turn it into targeting, messaging, and qualification criteria. The best dealers have a type. You'll know it cold.

Run campaigns everywhere our next dealer hangs out. Always-on recruitment across LinkedIn (organic, paid, and job postings), paid search and social, cold email sequences, direct mail, and industry channels. Your targets: lighting, holiday and temporary lighting, landscape lighting, electrical, and exterior home-service pros, plus entrepreneurs hunting for a proven business. You'll write short, punchy outreach built on intrigue, dealer success stories, and margins, and manage the sequences in HubSpot. A few times a year you'll work a trade show or business-opportunity event and talk to people in person.

Make the case irresistible. You own the become-a-dealer web experience: landing pages, forms, invite-only tracked links, the FAQ, and the never-ending work of making it convert better. You'll produce the recruitment toolkit (pitch deck, one-pagers, success stories, video testimonials, territory and economics overviews, webinar content) and keep the dealer value proposition consistent: one dedicated dealer per territory, a patented product with a lifetime product warranty, and real HQ marketing and operational support. You'll keep us clearly differentiated from stick-on and big-box lights, temporary holiday lighting, and puck- or bulb-style systems, always inside Trimlight brand standards.

Build the HubSpot engine. Lead capture, scoring, segmented nurture tracks, re-engagement, and pipeline-stage visibility for the whole prospective-dealer lifecycle. You own attribution: every inquiry and every signed dealer traces back to its source, campaign, and territory. You keep the data clean and reportable and coordinate with marketing operations on properties, workflows, and dashboards.

Read the numbers and move the money. You own the dealer-recruitment dashboard: inquiries, qualified leads, discovery calls, signed dealers, cost per qualified lead, cost per signed dealer, and time to sign, by channel and territory. You run structured tests on audience, creative, and channel, and you tell us where recruitment spend should shift based on what converts. You report monthly to the Director of Marketing and Dealer Success leadership and present a quarterly recruitment plan with clear recommendations. You keep an eye on competing dealer and franchise opportunities and adjust our positioning and offers before they become a problem.

How we'll know you're crushing it

We're not grading on vibes. These are the numbers on your dashboard, and ours:

  • Qualified dealer inquiries per month and quarter, both volume and territory fit
  • New dealers signed (marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced) against our annual territory growth goals
  • Coverage of critical and major gap territories
  • Cost per qualified lead and cost per signed dealer, by channel
  • Inquiry-to-discovery-call and discovery-call-to-signed conversion rates
  • Become-a-dealer page conversion rate and nurture engagement

When a new dealer signs in a market that was dark six months ago, that's the win. You'll see it on the map.

You might be our person if…

  • You've spent 4+ years in B2B demand gen, growth marketing, or franchise/dealer development marketing. Channel or franchise recruitment experience moves you to the top of the pile.
  • You've built things in HubSpot (or its equivalent) with your own hands: sequences, workflows, lead scoring, attribution reporting. Not watched someone else do it.
  • You've run LinkedIn and paid social/search campaigns that worked, and you can write a 40-word message that makes a busy contractor reply.
  • You're comfortable with data. You build dashboards, you read funnels, and when you make a recommendation it has a number attached.
  • You get small-business owners and the trades. You can talk margins, startup costs, and territory economics without sounding like a textbook.
  • You're a self-directed builder who'd rather ship a test today than perfect a plan next month, and you don't mind packing a bag for the occasional event.

Bonus points if you've ever sold, installed, or run a crew in lighting, electrical, or exterior home services. Extra bonus points if your own house has Trimlight on it. :)
