As our team continues to grow, we are looking for a Debt Collector who enjoys working with people, building professional relationships and finding solutions.

The role will primarily focus on our German portfolio and cooperation with tenants in Germany. German language skills are not required.

Your role

As a Debt Collector, you will be in regular contact with our tenants in Germany, supporting them with payment-related topics and helping to resolve outstanding balances or discrepancies.

While German is not required for this position, you should feel comfortable working with German-speaking business partners and be open to using translation and AI-powered tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to support your day-to-day communication.

This is a role for someone who feels comfortable communicating with customers and can combine a friendly and professional approach with persistence and ownership.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Contacting tenants regarding outstanding payments and overdue balances
• Clarifying payment discrepancies and open items
• Following up on overdue payments in a professional and customer-oriented manner
• Maintaining regular communication with tenants, primarily via email
• Using translation and AI-powered tools to support communication with German-speaking tenants
• Handling incoming calls and, when necessary, proactively contacting tenants by phone
• Cooperating with internal Finance teams to clarify payment-related matters
• Keeping information and collection activities accurately documented
• Building positive and professional relationships with tenants while ensuring that outstanding matters are followed up effectively
• Proactively identifying issues and supporting their resolution

Your profile

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people and communicating with customers, while also being comfortable following up when something needs to be resolved.

• At least 1 year of professional experience in a customer-facing role, such as Customer Service, Collections, Accounts Receivable or a similar position
• Good command of English
• Openness to working with German-speaking tenants and using translation and AI tools to support communication
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership
• Resilience and persistence, particularly when dealing with challenging or sensitive conversations
• Customer-oriented mindset and ability to communicate professionally and diplomatically
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Previous experience in Collections, Accounts Receivable or Finance is an advantage, but not essential
