Position: Decal Applicator (Graphics Installer)

Location: Troy, MI

Reports To: Director, Quality Assurance

Description:

The Decal Applicator is responsible for installing branding, decals, and vinyl graphics on company vehicles, equipment, and facility surfaces. This role supports Penske Vehicle Services’ commitment to high-quality fleet presentation by ensuring all graphics are applied accurately, safely, and in alignment with brand standards.

Essential Job Functions:

• Install company branding, decals, and fleet graphics on vehicles, equipment, and facility surfaces
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, measuring, and staging materials to ensure proper adhesion
• Measure, align, cut, and apply vinyl graphics to meet exact specifications and brand guidelines
• Use tools such as squeegees, heat guns, and cutting equipment to ensure smooth, durable installation
• Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and visual consistency
• Remove or replace damaged or outdated decals and graphics as needed
• Support shop operations including staging vehicles, maintaining workspace cleanliness, and handling materials
• Follow all Penske safety protocols, including PPE, equipment usage, and facility rules
• Communicate with supervisors and team members to prioritize work and meet production timelines
• Document completed work and report any issues impacting quality or schedule

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in vinyl graphics, automotive detailing, body shop, or related field preferred
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Ability to read measurements and follow layout templates or work instructions
• Comfortable using hand tools and installation equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment
• Professional communication skills and dependable workplace conduct

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle materials safely
• Comfortable working around vehicles, in service bays, and occasionally outdoors
• May require bending, kneeling, reaching, and working on ladders or step platforms
