AR/Deductions Specialist

Do you love solving puzzles, analyzing data, and uncovering the "why" behind financial discrepancies? We're looking for a AR/Deductions Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with cross-functional teams to drive business improvements and financial accuracy.

In this role, you'll take ownership of customer deductions from investigation to resolution, leveraging data, technology, and collaboration to reduce financial exposure, improve processes, and support operational excellence. What You'll Do

  • Investigate and resolve customer deductions, chargebacks, and disputes across retail, distributor, and foodservice channels.
  • Analyze transactional data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Manage deduction cases from creation through closure, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Research pricing discrepancies, shortages, compliance chargebacks, damaged goods claims, service failures, and EDI-related issues.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Finance, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Technology teams to resolve root causes and prevent future deductions.
  • Monitor deduction performance metrics and provide meaningful analysis and recommendations to leadership.
  • Utilize customer portals and deduction management tools to investigate and reconcile claims.
  • Extract, compile, and analyze data from ERP systems, reporting tools, and multiple data sources.
  • Perform advanced Excel analysis using Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, and other reporting functions.
  • Identify process gaps and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce deduction exposure.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in deductions, chargebacks, accounts receivable, finance, order operations, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to uncover trends and root causes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, and data analysis functions.
  • Experience working within ERP systems such as SAP or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with HighRadius or other deduction management systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with customer portals for major retailers, distributors, and foodservice accounts.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ontario, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
