  • Determine the causes, responsibility, and contractual implications of delays based on project records, correspondence, and schedule data.
  • Apply recognized delay analysis methodologies to assess the impact of delays on project completion dates and critical path activities.
  • Evaluate concurrent delays and distinguish between excusable, compensable, and non-compensable delays, where applicable.

Extension Of Time (EOT) Claims

  • Prepare, review, and manage detailed EOT claims supported by robust schedule analysis and contemporaneous project records.
  • Assess entitlement to time extensions in accordance with contractual provisions and applicable notice requirements.
  • Develop clear delay narratives, supporting calculations, and technical documentation for claim submissions.

Project Scheduling & Schedule Evaluation

  • Review baseline, updated, and as-built schedules to assess progress, identify deviations, and evaluate schedule performance.
  • Apply industry-standard delay analysis techniques, including the Critical Path Method (CPM), As-Planned versus As-Built analysis, and other appropriate methodologies.
  • Identify potential schedule risks, critical activities, and emerging delays, and recommend mitigation and recovery measures.
  • Evaluate project schedules and recovery plans to assess their feasibility and alignment with contractual milestones.

Contractual Compliance & Advisory

  • Review contractual provisions related to time, delays, notices, and extensions of time.
  • Ensure delay analyses and time-related claims comply with contractual requirements, including applicable time-bar provisions.
  • Provide expert technical and contractual advice on delay-related matters to project teams and management.
  • Support the preparation of contractual correspondence and responses concerning delays, schedule impacts, and EOT entitlements.

Dispute Resolution Support

  • Provide technical analysis and supporting evidence for delay-related disputes and claims.
  • Assist in preparing delay analysis reports and expert documentation for negotiations, mediation, adjudication, or arbitration, as required.
  • Coordinate with contracts, claims, planning, and legal teams to establish clear and evidence-based contractual positions.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Collaborate with project managers, planning engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients to obtain and validate project schedule information.
  • Prepare detailed delay analysis reports outlining causes, impacts, contractual implications, and recommended actions.
  • Monitor schedule performance and report significant delays, potential risks, and mitigation progress to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate records of schedule updates, delay events, project correspondence, and supporting documentation.

Risk Mitigation & Schedule Recovery

  • Identify schedule-related risks and recommend proactive measures to minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Develop and evaluate recovery strategies in coordination with project teams.
  • Assess the effectiveness of corrective actions and recommend improvements to support timely project completion.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and contractual provisions relating to delays, extensions of time, and claims.
  • Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6; knowledge of MS Project is an advantage.
