Show job description

The Delivery Architect translates business and technical requirements into secure, scalable, enterprise-aligned solution architectures that enable value-stream execution and support JM&A’s long-term product strategy. This role provides hands-on architectural leadership, governance, delivery planning, and roadmap guidance across the product lifecycle while partnering with product, engineering, infrastructure, network, Information Security, business, and vendor stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is a credible, delivery-focused architect who moves fluidly between architecture and execution. They understand cloud-delivery realities, can determine whether teams are building toward the intended design, and bring sufficient technical depth across APIs, Azure networking, container platforms, modernization, AI, security review, and enterprise governance.

They do not need to be a primary hands-on developer, but must be able to interpret implementation details, test architectural assumptions, assess whether plans are achievable, and keep delivery teams aligned to the target state.

This is an individual-contributor role that leads through influence rather than direct people management. The position is hybrid, with onsite and remote work based from JM&A’s Deerfield Beach, Florida headquarters.

Responsibilities:

Solution Architecture and Governance

  • Design and document secure, scalable, reusable solution architectures using approved enterprise technologies, standards, patterns, and governance processes.
  • Lead end-to-end technical design for portals, APIs, integrations, supporting services, and Azure-based modernization and migration initiatives.
  • Evaluate solution options, tradeoffs, risks, dependencies, technology lifecycle impacts, and delivery feasibility; recommend timely remediation strategies.
  • Ensure solutions meet performance, availability, scalability, security, compliance, supportability, operational-readiness, and cost-optimization expectations.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps, architectural runway, reference architectures, principles, and best-practice blueprints aligned to value-stream priorities and product strategy.
  • Present architecture decisions, migration plans, and risk-based recommendations to leadership, approval boards, and governance forums.

Product and Delivery Leadership

  • Partner with Product Owners and Product Managers to translate evolving business needs into executable architecture and delivery plans.
  • Support seamless omnichannel experiences and platform integration while balancing near-term delivery commitments with long-term architectural health.
  • Participate in Pre-PI and PI Planning and help allocate appropriate capacity between business features and architectural enablement work.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the solution-delivery lifecycle and guide cross-functional teams through influence, collaboration, and clear decision-making.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts in business and delivery language for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Operate effectively when requirements are incomplete, timelines are compressed, and work has significant organizational visibility.

Cloud Modernization and Integration

  • Lead Azure modernization and migration planning across internal platforms and application teams.
  • Guide migration from public-facing integration patterns to private Azure networking models, including firewalls, network security groups, routing, segmentation, and enterprise network dependencies.
  • Lead or support migration of MuleSoft-managed integrations to Azure API Management, recognizing when workloads should instead be re-architected as AKS workers or job-driven services.
  • Partner with the Imperva team to align legacy and target-state integrations with approved enterprise endpoint standards, including common naming patterns such as set.api.jmfamily.com.
  • Help retire legacy SFTP, FTP, and ECS-based integration and processing patterns by defining appropriate target-state solutions using Stonebranch and AKS-based job execution.
  • Provide architectural guidance for modernization involving .NET Framework 4.x, .NET 6, .NET 8, and .NET 10, including impact analysis, migration planning, and feasibility review.
  • Assess implementation implications across Docker, Helm, Bicep, API specifications, deployment packaging, runtime behavior, monitoring, and logging.
  • Read and challenge C# and .NET implementation sufficiently to validate design feasibility, architectural alignment, and modernization impact.
  • Partner directly with Information Security and governance teams to resolve concerns and move approvals forward.

Microsoft AI Architecture

  • Architect enterprise-scale AI solutions using Microsoft technologies, including Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Services, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Design and govern end-to-end generative AI architectures, including retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, prompt orchestration, API integrations, and secure enterprise data-access patterns.
  • Define AI architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices aligned with Microsoft Responsible AI principles and enterprise security, compliance, and data-governance requirements.
  • Translate business needs into highly available, performant, maintainable, scalable, and cost-effective AI-enabled solutions across the Microsoft cloud ecosystem.
  • Evaluate emerging Microsoft AI capabilities and guide cross-functional teams through the design, implementation, and adoption of AI-powered business and technology solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect, Delivery Architect, Application Architect, or similar architect supporting enterprise application and platform delivery.
  • Strong Microsoft Azure experience, particularly in application, integration, networking, security, and delivery-oriented solution architecture.
  • Direct experience migrating MuleSoft integrations to Azure API Management and evaluating alternative execution patterns when a workload is not a true API.
  • Experience with Azure API Management, API gateway and lifecycle patterns, policy-driven management, and Swagger/OpenAPI standards.
  • Working knowledge of Azure private networking, including firewalls, network security groups, routing, segmentation, and network-boundary design.
  • Experience with Imperva-supported endpoint standardization, API exposure, migration, or edge-routing and gateway transitions.
  • Familiarity with Stonebranch and AKS job or worker execution patterns for scheduled and dynamic workloads.
  • Ability to assess Docker, Helm, Bicep, C#/.NET, deployment, and runtime artifacts for architectural fit and delivery feasibility.
  • Experience supporting modernization across .NET Framework 4.x and current .NET versions, including .NET 6, .NET 8, and .NET 10.
  • Familiarity with Azure monitoring and logging concepts that support reliable operations.
  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to present effectively to delivery teams, governance bodies, approval boards, and non-technical leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity and deliver results in high-impact, high-visibility environments.
  • Experience leading enterprise AI strategy, establishing an AI Center of Excellence, or driving organization-wide adoption and governance of Microsoft AI technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in highly governed enterprises where architecture decisions follow formal review and approval processes.
  • Experience retiring legacy integration, batch, or file-transfer solutions using mixed target-state patterns.
  • Experience working across application, infrastructure, network, security, and operations teams in active modernization programs.
  • Familiarity with containerized application delivery and operational-support patterns in Azure.
  • Demonstrated success driving innovation through technology-trend analysis and roadmap planning.
