Delivery LeadJob Description
So, who are we?
IG Group is a FTSE 100 fintech operating across five continents, serving over 1.4m customers and handling billions of dollars in transactions – built on scale, trust, and proof. We didn't pivot to innovation; it's how we've always operated. What that means for the people who work here is real: genuinely complex problems to solve, the technology and resources to tackle them properly, and the kind of scope that's rare in established businesses.
The bar is high – bring a curious and forward-thinking mindset and we'll give you the platform to define what comes next.
Join us at IG – the future gets built here.
Your Team:
This role sits within the new Product Operations team, reporting into the Product Operations Lead, and is deployed onto specific high-priority initiatives as and when they arise, working alongside the Product Managers and Engineering Leads of every squad involved. You'll also work closely with the Product Governance Specialist and Product Partnership Manager where an initiative touches governance approval or third-party contracts, and you'll feed initiative-level status into the Product Operations Lead's wider portfolio reporting and forums such as the Product Development Monthly.
Your role in the Team’s Success:
This is a role for someone who thrives on the big, complex, cross-cutting initiatives that don't fit neatly inside a single squad or even a single domain - platform migrations, new product line launches, multi-quarter strategic programmes that touch several product areas at once. As Delivery Lead you will own the end-to-end delivery of these initiatives, orchestrating multiple Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and squads toward a single outcome. This is a role within a product-led organisation where we need people who are focused on outcomes, not just governance and milestones.
What you’ll do:
Cross-squad and cross-domain orchestration
- Own the end-to-end delivery plan for major initiatives that span multiple squads and/or multiple product domains, sequencing work across teams that don't normally plan together. Support teams to carve deliverables/plans into manageable slices, making sure value can be found in each slice.
- Identify and actively manage dependencies between squads and domains - the handoffs, shared components, and sequencing constraints that a single squad's Product Manager can't see or resolve alone.
- Bring together the right Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and other stakeholders at the right moments, without taking over their squads' day-to-day delivery. Help to foster a psychologically safe working environment where people can raise problems, solve issues and find solutions.
Programme-level risk and issue management
- Maintain a single, honest view of risk, issues, and critical-path dependencies across the whole initiative, escalating early and clearly to the Product Operations Lead and senior stakeholders.
- Resolve conflicts where squads have competing priorities or constrained shared resources, making trade-offs visible rather than letting them cause silent slippage.
- Own contingency and mitigation planning for the risks that could derail a multi-team initiative — not just track them on a log.
Stakeholder alignment and communication
- Act as the single point of accountability for "how is this initiative actually going" — able to give senior stakeholders, up to and including the Product Development Monthly forum, a clear and credible answer at any point.
- Keep Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and other functions (Compliance, Legal, Data) aligned to a shared plan and timeline, even when their day-to-day priorities pull in different directions.
- Translate initiative complexity into simple, decision-ready updates for senior leadership.
Technical and delivery credibility
- Bring a high level of technical fluency to understand system dependencies, integration points, and engineering trade-offs across multiple domains.
- Apply sound programme and project management discipline (planning, milestone tracking, RAID management) appropriate to initiatives that are often unprecedented and don't fit a standard template.
Contribution to Product Operations
- Feed lessons learned and delivery best practice back into the Product Operations Lead, helping the wider team get better at running complex, cross-cutting initiatives.
- Support the Product Operations Lead with ad hoc portfolio-level analysis or reporting when capacity allows between initiatives.
What You'll Need:
- Significant experience as a Programme Manager, Senior Delivery Manager, or Technical Project Manager, with a track record of delivering initiatives that span multiple teams or workstreams.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex cross-team dependencies and driving them to resolution, not just tracking them.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the credibility and gravitas to align Product Managers and Engineering Leads who don't report into you.
- Enough technical understanding to engage credibly with engineering leaders on architecture, sequencing, and trade-offs across multiple systems or domains.
- Excellent communication skills — able to distil a genuinely complex, multi-team initiative into a clear, honest update for senior leadership.
- Comfortable with ambiguity — these initiatives often don't have a standard playbook, and you'll need to build the plan as much as follow one.
- Open to ambiguity - people need a plan, but they we expect you to be dynamic and adaptable when circumstances inevitably change.
Desirable
- Experience in a regulated financial services or fintech environment.
- Direct experience delivering platform migrations, re-platforming, or major organisational/domain restructuring initiatives.
- Programme or project management qualifications (e.g. MSP, PMP, Prince2) — useful context, though real-world judgement on ambiguous, high-stakes initiatives matters more.
- Deep experience of agile ways of working, to work effectively with Product Managers and Engineering Leads running their own ceremonies and backlogs.
The Perks
It really is more than a job. We think like a start-up, but we deliver like a FTSE 100 — so the bar is high, and we won't pretend otherwise. We work hybrid, which means three days in the office. We’ll recognise your talent and make sure that you can still have a life – at work, and outside of it. Networks, committees, awards, sports and social clubs, mentorships, volunteering opportunities, extra time off… the list goes on.
- Competitive salary
- Flexible Benefits Package on top of your salary (12%)
- Private medical cover for you and your family
- Life insurance
- Contribution to gym memberships
- 25 Days holiday, with 1 additional day off to celebrate your Birthday & 2 additional days off a year for voluntary work (28 in total)
- The option to buy or sell holiday days
- A comprehensive global and local onboarding process
- Enhanced primary (maternity), secondary (paternity), and shared parental pay and leave, as well as a range of support and benefits for parents
