Show job description

StructureIt is a growing software consultancy in the capital markets, with offices in the UK, South Africa, Mauritius, India and New Zealand. We are trusted partners that help our customers in the Commercial Real Estate and Credit Markets leverage technology to unlock value throughout their business. Our mission is to deliver high-quality and robust software that quickly solves customer pain points while keeping them in control throughout the engagement.

Main focus of the role

We are looking for a Delivery Lead to own the successful delivery and day-to-day client relationship across one or more projects – ensuring quality outcomes, strong commercial performance and clients who trust StructureIt. Reporting to the Portfolio Head and leading our project managers, you’ll blend delivery expertise, commercial acumen, client relationship management and team leadership, working with distributed software development teams in London, Johannesburg, Cape Town and New Zealand and our international client base.

What you’ll do
The work spans four areas: delivery, the client relationship, commercial performance, and leading your team.

  • Own delivery end to end. Scope, quality, timeline and budget for every engagement you’re assigned, meeting StructureIt’s internal standards and any client-specific compliance requirements.
  • Be the face of StructureIt to the client. As their primary day-to-day contact, you resolve escalations promptly and report progress regularly.
  • Resolve issues before they escalate. You’re the first escalation point for delivery issues and you document and raise risks early, so there are no surprises for the Portfolio Head.
  • Manage partners and suppliers. Coordinate third-party implementation partners and suppliers, such as Databricks, within your projects.
  • Run the numbers. Track revenue, cost and margin against the approved project baseline, flag variances promptly, and report delivery progress, client health and commercial performance to the Portfolio Head.
  • Shape new work. Review SOWs, help with estimates and input on team composition for opportunities in your domain, validating feasibility with the Engagement Lead.
  • Grow your accounts. Identify upsell and expansion opportunities and work with the Portfolio Head on account strategy and engagement reviews.
  • Lead the project team. Direct and support the technical, PM and BA resources on your projects – you set the delivery context and constraints, the Technical Lead owns the how.
  • Line-manage your people. Regular 1:1s, development and growth conversations, performance feedback and reviews, well-being check-ins and leave approval in BambooHR (jointly with the Technical People Lead), plus feedback on every project team member.
  • Improve how we deliver. Apply delivery processes consistently and feed lessons learned back into the business line.

To fly in your role, you’ll need

  • Have a strong track record of delivering complex software projects end to end, and can run several concurrent accounts without material delivery risk
  • Have real commercial acumen – you’re comfortable owning a project P&L, tracking margin against baseline, reviewing SOWs and building estimates
  • Build trust with senior client stakeholders, who describe you as a trusted advisor, not just a project manager
  • Have line-managed people before, give direct, actionable feedback, and genuinely care about your team’s growth and well-being
  • Take the time to understand your client’s industry and business objectives, and the services StructureIt provides
  • Come from a technical background, are familiar with software development methodologies and prefer the more agile ones
  • Are approachable, calm under pressure and authentic
  • Are familiar with compliance standards such as SOC and ISO
