About the opportunity

Buildcircle is partnering with a well-established energy business, part of a major UK energy group, to find an experienced Delivery Lead for an upcoming project.

Our client helps organisations decarbonise and cut costs through large-scale onsite energy solutions. These include combined heat and power, solar PV and heat pumps, all backed by long-term operations and maintenance services. They also offer in-house financing and net zero consultancy, helping customers plan realistic routes to cleaner, more secure and more affordable energy.

The project

The client is unifying parts of its current technical landscape, bringing a range of existing applications and platforms together into a more joined-up, efficient estate. You’ll own the delivery of this work: keeping multiple teams aligned, removing blockers, managing dependencies and making sure the programme lands on time and with confidence.

This is an AI-forward role. We’re looking for delivery leads who already use AI tools as a core part of how they work day to day, and who can bring that approach to the team from day one.

The contract runs initially until the end of this year, and there’s a strong chance it will be extended to the end of 2027.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading end-to-end delivery across one or more teams working on the unified platform
• Planning and tracking delivery, managing scope, timelines, dependencies and risks
• Running and improving Agile ceremonies and ways of working
• Removing blockers and keeping engineering, product and business stakeholders aligned
• Using AI tools to speed up planning, reporting, documentation and risk analysis
• Building a healthy, high-performing team culture with a focus on continuous improvement
• Communicating progress, risks and trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders

What we’re looking for

• Solid experience as a Delivery Lead, Delivery Manager or similar on technology programmes
• Essential: proven, hands-on use of AI in your current workflows (for example, using AI assistants for planning, reporting, documentation or analysis), and the ability to give real examples of how it has improved your output
• Strong understanding of Agile and Lean delivery, with the judgement to adapt approaches to the situation
• Experience managing delivery across multiple teams, suppliers or complex system landscapes
• Comfortable working with technical teams and understanding enough to discuss risks and dependencies credibly
• Confident working with stakeholders at all levels in a large organisation
• Experience on platform consolidation or system integration programmes is a strong plus
• Energy, utilities or infrastructure experience is a plus but not essential
