EPAM is expanding its AI delivery capability across Central and Eastern Europe, and we are opening five Delivery Manager positions with an AI focus.
AI delivery rewards a particular temperament. These systems behave differently from one run to the next, “done” takes real thought to define, and clients often arrive with a firm view formed before anyone has looked at the evidence. The Delivery Managers who thrive here tend to be curious rather than certain. They are comfortable saying “we do not know yet, and here is how we will find out,” and steady enough that teams and clients keep their confidence while the answer takes shape.
You will own the delivery of client AI engagements end to end, and you will help the wider portfolio adopt AI-native ways of working. The second part is done through teaching, persuasion, and evidence rather than mandate, so we care as much about how you carry people with you as about what you have shipped.
Responsibilities
- Assume end-to-end ownership of AI and GenAI delivery — agentic systems, LLM-based products, and ML and data platforms — including scope, schedule, quality, and risk
- Own the commercial health of the engagement: revenue forecast, margin, resource planning, and change control
- Act as the client's senior delivery counterpart, from product ownership through to CIO and CTO level, and set realistic expectations of the technology at an early stage
- Define delivery governance appropriate to non-deterministic systems: evaluation and quality gates, guardrails, inference cost control, model and vendor risk, and data handling
- Ensure compliance with Responsible AI principles and the EU AI Act in cooperation with Legal and Information Security
- Establish AI-assisted engineering practice within delivery teams and evidence its impact on productivity and quality against a measured baseline
- Shape and staff cross-country delivery teams, with accountability for staffing quality, ramp-up, and retention
- Contribute to presales activity: delivery approach, estimation, and risk assessment for AI opportunities
- Develop Project Managers, Scrum Masters, and Technical Leads towards AI delivery leadership
Requirements
- A minimum of six years' experience in software or data delivery, including at least three years' ownership of multi-team delivery as a Delivery Manager, Program Manager, or equivalent
- Demonstrable ownership of engagement economics, including budget, margin, forecast, and resource planning
- Delivery experience on at least one AI-intensive engagement taken to production: a GenAI or LLM-based product, agentic automation, an ML platform, or a data-intensive AI programme
- Working knowledge of the AI delivery stack: LLM APIs and orchestration frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation and agentic patterns, evaluation and guardrails, LLMOps and MLOps practice, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Sound technical judgement, sufficient to assess architectural estimates and to challenge client assumptions on a substantiated basis
- A strong Agile delivery foundation (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe), applied appropriately to experiment-driven work
- Experience leading distributed, cross-cultural delivery teams
- English at C1 level or above
Nice to have
- Sector expertise in banking and insurance, telecommunications, retail, energy, or the public sector
- A track record in presales and account growth, including proposals, estimation, and client workshops
- Practical exposure to EU AI Act, GDPR, or DORA requirements in a delivery context
- A background in engineering, architecture, or data science
- Relevant certification: PMP, SAFe, PMI-ACP, or a major cloud AI/ML credential
