This role is responsible for analyzing and translating multiple demand signals into a clear and actionable supplier forecast that supports business objectives and production requirements.

Working across a highly complex planning environment, the Demand Network Planner integrates forecasts from multiple sources, multiple factories, product lines, and demand streams including systems, upgrades, pilot/NPI, engineering, and service requirements. Through the use of advanced planning systems, analytics tools, and cross-functional collaboration, this role ensures supplier demand signals accurately reflect current and future production requirements while optimizing supply readiness and minimizing risk.

The Demand Network Planner must be comfortable navigating ambiguity and complexity, balancing changing customer demand with evolving production plans, supplier capabilities, inventory positions, and business priorities.

Demand Signal Management

  • Consolidate and analyze demand from multiple factories, business units, and demand streams to create an accurate supplier-facing forecast.
  • Evaluate demand changes and determine their impact across suppliers, commodities, and manufacturing sites.
  • Maintain alignment between customer forecasts, production plans, and supplier demand signals.
  • Ensure forecast assumptions and planning methodologies are consistently applied across the supply network.

Supply Network Planning

  • Translate finished goods and component demand into actionable requirements for suppliers.
  • Manage demand allocation across multiple qualified suppliers and manufacturing sources.
  • Identify gaps, risks, or inconsistencies within supplier demand projections and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve forecast quality and supply responsiveness.

Systems, Analytics, and Planning Integration

  • Utilize multiple planning tools, ERP systems, forecasting applications, and analytical platforms to collect, validate, and interpret demand data.
  • Develop data-driven insights that improve demand visibility and forecast accuracy.
  • Monitor planning parameters and system signals to ensure alignment with production requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, data quality, and system utilization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Demand Planning, Factory Planning, Supply Planning, Commodity Management, Supplier Management, Operations, and Engineering teams to understand changes in demand requirements.
  • Facilitate alignment between customer demand expectations and supplier execution capabilities.
  • Communicate forecast drivers, risks, and opportunities to key stakeholders.
  • Support executive reviews and operational planning discussions with data-based recommendations.

Risk Management

  • Identify demand volatility, forecast shifts, supplier constraints, and other factors that may impact supply continuity.
  • Develop scenario analyses and contingency plans to mitigate supply risks.
  • Escalate potential issues proactively and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor supplier readiness against demand plans and production commitments.
