Job Description - Denials Management Coordinator (240001Y3) Job Description Denials Management Coordinator - ( 240001Y3 ) Description Job Summary The Denials Management Coordinator assumes responsibility and accountability for continuous research and prevention of denials and payment variance from all payers, as well as appeals of all accounts reviewed and deemed appropriate for appeal. The Coordinator will create a structure for Identification and resolution of root cause breakdowns resulting in payer denials/payment variances by working and collaborating with individuals across the revenue cycle to remove barriers and initiate workflow improvements. The Coordinator will assume ownership of denials/payment variance reporting generation and distribution and education of end users. It is imperative that the selected candidate be a clear and concise communicator understanding professional medical terminology and process. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida and a minimum of 5 years experience in health care and/or managed care. 3 years’ experience working in case management, discharge planning and medial bill audit, dealing with insurance companies and/or utilization review. Recent clinical knowledge and experience with Interqual criteria preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel preferred. Medical audit experience and credentialed as a Certified Medical Audit Specialist (CMAS) from American Association of Medical Audit Specialists (AAMAS) preferred.
