Department Manager - Bridge

What We're Looking For: Michael Baker International is seeking a Department Manager - Bridge to lead and grow our Ohio bridge practice. This role combines technical leadership, client development, and team management, with a focus on delivering impactful bridge and transportation projects for ODOT and local agencies across the state. What You'll Do: Lead and grow a team delivering bridge design, rehabilitation, inspection, and load rating projects Build and maintain strong relationships with ODOT, counties, municipalities, and key transportation clients. Oversee project delivery, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met. Drive business development efforts, lead strategic pursuits, and help win major bridge and transportation projects. Mentor staff, support career development, and foster a collaborative team culture. Represent Michael Baker within Ohio's transportation industry and professional organizations. What You Need to Succeed: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 12+ years of bridge engineering experience. Experience working with ODOT and Ohio public-sector clients. PE license in Ohio (or ability to obtain). Proven leadership, project delivery, and business development experience. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Preferred Qualifications Established Ohio transportation industry relationships. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams. Alternative delivery (Design-Build) experience. Active involvement in professional organizations. Track record of winning pursuits and growing client accounts. Compensation: The approximate compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $195,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
