Role Purpose

The Deployment Manager leads the complete operational lifecycle of physical system deployments, site installations, and field commissioning across client rail and bus networks.

Operating in fast paced, live operational environments, you will act as Arrive’s primary field representative. This pivotal role requires a composed, proactive leader capable of coordinating multi stakeholder workflows, directing civil and electrical subcontractors, enforcing strict health and safety standards, and delivering high impact projects within critical engineering windows.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. Field Deployment & Operational Delivery

  • Site Deployment Management: Oversee end to end site preparation, civil works, hardware logistics, installation, and commissioning of transit hardware (TVMs, validators, depot infrastructure, and on board equipment). Deployment tracking for accuracy and compliance.

  • Site Surveys & Feasibility: Conduct thorough pre-deployment technical surveys to assess power distribution, network connectivity, structural integrity, and accessibility.

  • Engineering Window Execution: Supervise out-of-hours and night deployment shifts, ensuring zero disruption to live passenger services and transit schedules.

  • Subcontractor Oversight: Direct and audit civil, electrical, and mechanical contractors to guarantee compliance with Arrive’s standards, SLAs, and RAMS guidelines.

2. Customer Focus & Stakeholder Communication

  • Primary On-Site Representative: Serve as the primary liaison for station managers, depot operators, transit executives, and key external partners.

  • High Pressure Leadership: Maintain clear, constructive communication during operational challenges, navigating issues with diplomacy, composure, and action-oriented solutions.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal Project Managers, Systems Engineers, and Service Operations to provide transparent status reporting and milestone tracking.

  • Presales and Proposals: Engage with stakeholders and customers to capture requirements and generate P&Ls.

3. Technical Standards, Quality & Safety

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all physical hardware installations, cabling, power terminations, and network integrations adhere strictly to Arrive's standards and pass acceptance testing.

  • Technical Triage: Provide expert guidance and hands-on troubleshooting for hardware, power, and IP networking issues encountered on site.

  • Safety Culture: Promote a zero harm mindset, rigorously enforcing RAMS, risk assessments, PPE standards, and public safety boundaries across all job sites.

Candidate Profile & Specifications

Essential Requirements & Qualifications

  • Field Leadership Experience: Proven experience managing field deployment, site engineering, or system installations for automated kiosks, smart transit, or electromechanical equipment.

  • Resilience Under Pressure: Demonstrated capability to maintain calm, sound judgment, and focus under tight delivery timelines and live operational constraints.

  • Customer Focus: Exceptional interpersonal and client-facing communication skills, with a track record of building confidence with client teams.

  • Technical Foundations: Strong understanding of electrical connections, hardware integration, and IP networking concepts.

  • High Mobility: Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 90% across the UK and Northern Ireland.

  • Driving Licence: Full, clean UK Driving Licence (required for company vehicle provision).

Desirable Criteria

  • Transport Sector Background: Experience operating in live rail environments (stations, platform concourses) or bus network operations (depots, fleet go lives).

  • Safety Certifications: Recognised Health & Safety or Site Supervision qualifications (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely, CSCS, or equivalent site safety credentials).
