Role Description The Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO) is a full-time, remote role responsible for supporting the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of Araya Ventures’ information technology environment. This role will assist the CIO in defining and implementing IT strategies that align with business objectives, including digital transformation initiatives and process optimization. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing IT operations, coordinating with internal stakeholders to improve systems and workflows, and ensuring security, reliability, and scalability of IT infrastructure. The Deputy CIO will manage and guide IT teams, monitor performance metrics, and champion best practices in governance, compliance, and data management. The role also involves evaluating new technologies, contributing to vendor selection, and driving continuous improvement across business processes and information systems.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Information Technology with the ability to oversee infrastructure, applications, and security across a distributed organization.
• Demonstrated experience in IT Operations, including service delivery, incident management, and system performance monitoring.
• Proven background in IT Management, with experience leading teams, managing budgets, and coordinating cross-functional projects.
• Expertise in IT Strategy and Business Process improvement to align technology initiatives with organizational goals and efficiency targets.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in the scientific, laboratory, or industrial equipment sector is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a remote work environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative, inclusive, and ethical leadership approach.
