How We Work

We work prompt-first. We use AI tools to prototype faster, generate tests, and increase velocity. But everything goes through human review—we don’t ship code we haven’t read and understood. You’ll learn how to use these tools effectively while building real features that customers use every day.

We’re a high-trust team of experienced engineers. You’ll own what you ship and how you ship it. If you identify a better approach, you have the authority to take it.

The constraint isn’t implementation speed anymore. It’s knowing what deserves to be built and executing at high quality. We expect engineers to think like product people. You’ll take on a project and drive it from inception through production: determine the right solution, build it well, and deploy it.

As a Design Engineer, you’ll work between design and engineering. AI is changing what a CRM interface should be, and much of it can’t be solved by copying patterns from other products. You’ll prototype new interactions in code, shape our design system, and ship polished front-end features, with the help of AI agents and without waiting on another team.

What You’ll Do

• Build customer-facing features in React and TypeScript, from prototype to production

• Own and evolve our design system and component library

• Prototype new interaction patterns in code, including AI-native experiences like chat, inline assistance, and agentic workflows

• Work daily in Claude Code and ship features using LLMs and agentic workflows

• Sweat the details: front-end performance, accessibility, motion, and microcopy

• Dig into user feedback to understand what advisors need, then simplify relentlessly

• Drive projects from concept to production—identify the right approach, execute it, ship it

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product decisions and user experience

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of professional front-end or full-stack web development

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field is a plus

• Deep experience with React and TypeScript

• Experience building and maintaining design systems, with component libraries such as shadcn/ui and Base UI and state management such as Redux

• Strong command of HTML, CSS, accessibility, and responsive design

• Track record of maintaining production applications and writing clear, maintainable, tested code

• Strong design and UX sense, backed by shipped work that shows both craft and engineering depth

• Comfort moving between Figma (or similar) and code, and good judgment about which to use when

• Experience shipping production work with AI coding tools, with the judgment to review and own everything they generate

• Excellent written communication and code review skills

• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and regular deployments

• Interest in the financial advisory space is a plus, but you don’t need to know it already

• Experience with Ruby on Rails or interfacing with Rails backends is a plus
