Design Manager
Location: Remote, open worldwide
Employment type: Full-time, permanent
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Office Headquarters: Dubai, UAE
We’re looking for a hands-on Design Manager to improve how customers move from seeing an ad to completing a purchase or enquiry. You’ll shape acquisition journeys and create the banners, video and ad copy that support them.
This role combines design execution with strategic thinking. You’ll work directly in Figma, review customer journeys, develop and test creative, and present recommendations to clients. You’ll report to the CEO and work with international clients across multiple markets. Candidates should be available to overlap with Dubai working hours for a few hours each day and attend client calls.
What you’ll do
Improve acquisition journeys
- Review the path from ad click through to conversion and identify where and why people drop off.
- Redesign landing pages, forms and checkout flows in Figma, with clear specifications for developers.
- Make sure the message and experience stay consistent from ad to landing page.
- Recommend useful experiments and help clients continue testing after launch.
Create display and social advertising
- Develop static, animated and HTML5 creative for platforms such as Google, Meta, Yahoo and TikTok.
- Build flexible concepts that can be adapted for different sizes, languages and campaigns.
- Balance each client’s brand with the requirements of each platform.
Manage video production
- Take video projects from brief to delivery, including supplier selection, budgets and timelines.
- Build relationships with editors, motion designers, videographers and footage providers.
- Direct short-form vertical video and plan platform-specific cut-downs.
- Track licensing and usage rights.
Write and test ad copy
- Write headlines, hooks, primary text, descriptions and calls to action for search, social and display.
- Develop distinct messaging angles for different audiences and structure them for meaningful testing.
- Ensure copy is accurate and compliant, including for clients in regulated sectors.
Measure and improve performance
- Run creative tests and report on their impact on cost per acquisition.
- Use performance data to refine or retire underperforming work.
- Apply generative tools for image, video and copy production where they improve the work, and review the quality of the results.
What we’re looking for
- Around five years of design experience focused on direct response, including paid social, display and landing pages.
- Experience improving acquisition flows, ideally with before-and-after conversion results to share.
- A portfolio of banner and social creative produced across platforms and formats.
- Experience commissioning or managing video production, including suppliers, budgets and deadlines.
- Strong ad copywriting skills and examples of tests or results that informed your work.
- Advanced Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud skills, with enough motion and editing experience to brief others and handle smaller edits.
- Experience using generative tools in live client work and a considered view of their limitations.
- Confidence reading creative performance data and designing clear, useful tests.
- Strong client communication skills, including the ability to present your work and support recommendations with evidence.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- A track record of working effectively in a remote environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with experimentation tools such as VWO or Optimizely.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, plus After Effects or similar tools.
- Experience with both e-commerce and lead generation.
- Experience in regulated industries, especially financial services.
- Arabic language skills or experience adapting creative for other languages.
- Experience building design systems or managing freelancers and junior designers.
What success looks like
- First month: You’ve reviewed client journeys and current creative, identified opportunities, and delivered initial improvements.
- First three months: Creative tests are running across accounts, a reliable video supplier network is in place, and production processes are running smoothly.
- First six months: Conversion rates are improving, creative cost per acquisition is decreasing, and clients value your contribution.
What’s offered
- Permanent, fully remote work, with no relocation required.
- Direct reporting to the CEO and access to quick decision-making.
- A broad role spanning design, video and copy for international clients.
- Budget for tools, licenses and freelance support, plus an equipment allowance.
- The opportunity to build the design function as the business grows.
- A competitive compensation package.
