Your role
We are seeking a Design & Release Engineer (DRE) with experience in hydraulic sealing systems and transmission components. This role will be responsible for the design, development, validation, and release of sealing solutions used in automotive transmission systems, ensuring proper fluid containment, durability, performance, and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will work closely with suppliers, validation teams, manufacturing, and vehicle integration teams to support product development from concept through launch.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the design and release of hydraulic sealing components for automotive transmission systems.
- Develop technical requirements and specifications for sealing applications.
- Support the development of dynamic and static sealing solutions.
- Design and validate oil seals, shaft seals, O-rings, gaskets, and related sealing technologies.
- Generate and review CAD models and engineering drawings using NX and/or CATIA.
- Apply GD&T principles to critical sealing interfaces.
- Develop and maintain DFMEA and DVP&R documentation.
- Coordinate component and system validation activities.
- Investigate fluid leakage, pressure loss, durability, and material performance issues.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Manage engineering change activities and release documentation through Teamcenter.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing compliance.
- Manage Tier 1 sealing suppliers throughout the development process.
- Support prototype builds, launch activities, and warranty investigations.
Your profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience in automotive transmission systems, hydraulic systems, or sealing technologies.
- Experience with Design Release Engineering activities.
- Strong knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience with NX, CATIA, and/or Teamcenter.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience working with Tier 1 suppliers.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced English proficiency.
