Design & Social Media Assistant (Fashion)

About the role

Angela Huang is looking for a Design & Social Media Assistant with a fashion background to support the founder directly. You will work at the intersection of technical design and social media: preparing clean design files in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, and running the brand’s day-to-day content on social media. This is a hands-on role with a lot of responsibility, ideal for someone who understands how garments are made and enjoys turning that into polished visuals.

Key responsibilities

• Create technical flats, illustrations, and layouts in Adobe Illustrator
• Prepare and lay out documents and print-ready files in Adobe InDesign
• Design on-brand content for Instagram, Threads, TikTok, and other platforms, including carousels, reel covers, and posts
• Plan and manage the content calendar and daily posting schedule
• Edit short videos and pictures, and draft captions in the brand voice for the founder’s approval
• Review basic analytics and suggest what content to make more of
• Assist with pictures and content shoots of the brand’s pieces
• Maintain brand guidelines, templates, and organised design files
• Support day-to-day administration, such as scheduling and file management

What we’re looking for

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop
• Understanding of garment construction, from a background in fashion design, pattern-making, or sewing
• Experience creating social media content optimised for different platforms
• A portfolio showing design work, ideally technical flats, fashion illustration, or fashion and lifestyle content
• A refined eye for layout, typography, and visual storytelling, with a taste for clean, elegant design
• Clear written communication and the ability to write engaging captions
• Strong organisation, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently
• Comfort taking feedback and working closely with the founder
• Video editing experience (CapCut, Premiere, or similar) is a plus
• Experience with a fashion atelier, couture brand, or fashion studio is a plus

Work arrangement

This is a full-time, hybrid role split between working from home and working in person. The schedule is flexible and may change from week to week depending on the founder’s availability. Weekend work is part of the role, with weekdays off in exchange.
