Designated Person Support – Investment Management
I’m working with a growing Irish UCITS management company that specialises in ETFs, and they’re looking for a Designated Person Support for Investment Management to join their Dublin team.
This is a great chance to work across the whole product lifecycle. You’d oversee a large number of delegated investment managers, from due diligence before they’re appointed, through ongoing monitoring and challenge, to the governance papers that go to committees and the Board. The funds are mainly index-tracking, so the focus is on breadth and rigour of oversight rather than complex modelling.
What you’ll be doing
- Running the ongoing oversight cycle: quarterly KPI and service level returns, due diligence questionnaires, oversight calls and on-site visits
- Reviewing tracking difference, tracking error, investment restrictions and concentration, and following up exceptions
- Following breaches and trade errors through to root cause, remediation and, where due, compensation
- Carrying out due diligence on new investment managers ahead of fund launches
- Preparing product governance memos and papers for the Product Governance Committee
- Preparing the Designated Person’s reports for the Board and Delegate Oversight Committee
What you’ll bring
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in funds or asset management, ideally in delegate oversight, investment compliance or portfolio monitoring at a ManCo, administrator, depositary or asset manager
- Working knowledge of UCITS and the Central Bank’s Fund Management Companies Guidance (CP86)
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with holdings data
- The ability to write clear papers for committees and boards
- ETF experience, UCITS product governance, Bloomberg or progress towards CFA or ACCA would be a bonus
The role is permanent, hybrid with three days a week in the office, and reports directly to the Designated Person for Investment Management. You’d join a small, fast-paced team where you’ll have real autonomy and plenty of room to grow.
