Position Summary:
The Desktop Support Technician I provides first level of support for end users of all levels. This includes both in-person and remote support for multiple sites. Sites may include office, warehouse, and factory environments. The position is office-based, but may include travel as needed.
Essential Functions for a Desktop Support Technician I:
- Provides first level of support for end user hardware and software
- Assists other IT staff members with support requests, escalations, or projects when needed
- Is responsible for corporate IMAC (Installs, Moves, Additions, Changes)
- Performs setup, deployment, and troubleshooting of laptops, desktops, software, and peripherals
- Handles IT-related procurement, including maintenance of hardware and software inventory
- Delivers administration and support of telecommunications (corporate VoIP/Contact Center, mobile devices, etc.)
- Meets corporate SLA’s for IT Helpdesk ticket system and projects
- Works directly with all levels of employees to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Coordinates with outside vendors for third party procurement and support
- May involve limited travel to other sites based on necessity
- May include off-hours work due to implementations, projects, maintenance, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications for a Desktop Support Technician I:
- Results driven attitude with the initiative to take on new responsibilities and independently manage assigned projects
- Experience handling support requests in a technical support role
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products, Windows operating systems, and E-mail products (MS Outlook and Office 365)
- Demonstrated analytic, written, and oral communications skills
- Good understanding of current technologies and ability to learn new technologies independently
Preferred Qualifications for a Desktop Support Technician I:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
- Entry level IT Certifications
- Previous experience providing desktop support in an Enterprise environment
- Experience installing and troubleshooting hardware and software
- Strong understanding of Network and Security principles
- Experience with PC imaging and deployment
- Experience with Enterprise Security Solutions (AV, EDR, etc.)

Physical Working Demands:
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate by phone using the English Language.
- Able to sit for long periods (3-4 hours at a time). The employee is frequently required to use hands for typing, 10-key operation, telephone dialing, and feeling objects, tools, or controls.
- Must be able to talk and hear.
- Must have vision abilities that includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to enter information into a computer.
Compensation: The salary range is $46,700-$58,700 depending on experience, plus quarterly bonus potential.
Reports to: IT Infrastructure Manager
Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
Hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Hybrid work schedule. Must live within an hour of our location.
