POSITION DESCRIPTION /

Niobium Microsystems is seeking a Developer Relations Leader who will be our first Developer Relations hire, and own the function. Your job is to make developers successful on the Fog and grow that community over time, both the people working in FHE today and the much larger group of engineers who will build with it once the tooling and speed get good enough.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES /

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strong programming proficiency in C++ or Python, with the ability to develop, test, and maintain technical examples, reference applications, and developer-facing resources. Experience with Rust is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a developer-facing capacity, such as Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, Solutions Engineering, Open-Source Development, Technical Community Management, or Technical Writing.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly develop proficiency in complex technologies, including Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). Prior exposure to cryptography, privacy-enhancing technologies, or security engineering is beneficial but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible, and engaging content for diverse technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with developers, fostering technical communities, and building collaborative relationships.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE /

Required:

  • Familiarity with developer ecosystems, open-source communities, and collaborative development platforms such as GitHub and Discord.
  • Experience developing technical tutorials, sample applications, SDK documentation, or other developer enablement resources.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, developer infrastructure, cryptography, privacy-preserving computation, or emerging computing technologies.
  • Experience measuring developer engagement, improving developer onboarding, or contributing to developer adoption and growth initiatives.
  • Experience presenting technical concepts at conferences, workshops, webinars, or community events.

Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience with OpenFHE or another FHE library
  • A public footprint developers already know: talks, blog posts, open source contributions, public X profile with a following
  • Experience at an early-stage startup
