DevOps Engineer

About the role

We're looking for a DevOps / Cloud Engineer to take ownership of the pioject Azure infrastructure. This is not a large, full-time position — it starts as a part-time audit engagement and can grow into ongoing support based on need.

Current tech stack

• Web server: Azure VM running IIS with an ASP.NET Core application
• Database: Azure SQL Database
• Message queue: Azure Service Bus (multiple queues handling Shopify webhooks)
• CI/CD: Azure DevOps Pipelines with manual deployment approval

What you'll do

• Azure: Audit and configure the current infrastructure; administer VMs, services, and access; optimize configuration
• SQL Server: Audit the database, optimize indexes, improve query performance, and set up backup procedures
• CI/CD: Support and improve the Azure DevOps Pipelines; refine deployment processes
• Documentation: Document the setup and how everything works, for handoff to the Operations Manager (Nastya)

Requirements

Must have:

• Microsoft Azure
• Azure SQL Database
• Azure VM / IIS
• Azure DevOps
• SQL Server administration
• Azure Service Bus

Nice to have:

• ASP.NET Core
• Shopify integrations
• Experience with small product teams

Language: English - Intermediate+

• Scope: This is not a large role — expect a part-time or one-time audit engagement, transitioning into ongoing support as needed.
• Priority: The founder hasn't worked in Azure for about 10 years, so the first step is auditing and documenting the current state.
• Handoff: Documentation will subsequently be picked up by Operations Manager
