DevOps Engineer

Role Description This full-time DevOps Engineer role at Simon Movilidad is a hybrid position based in the Bogotá D.C. Metropolitan Area, with a mix of on-site and work-from-home days. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automated infrastructure, focusing on reliability, scalability, and security. Daily responsibilities include building and managing CI pipelines, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting incidents, and collaborating with software development teams to streamline deployment processes. The role involves managing Linux-based environments, improving configuration management, and implementing Infrastructure as Code practices. The DevOps Engineer will also contribute to technical documentation, participate in architecture discussions, and support continuous improvement across development and operations workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Proficiency in Software Development concepts and at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
• Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Solid System Administration background with expertise in Linux-based operating systems and server management.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools and practices to ensure system reliability and observability.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and document processes and configurations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in urban mobility, transportation, or related technology environments is a plus.
