  • Deploying, managing and supporting containerised applications using Kubernetes.
  • Improving platform reliability, scalability, security and performance.
  • Automating infrastructure provisioning, deployment processes and operational workflows.
  • Supporting application development teams with cloud infrastructure, deployment and platform requirements.
  • Contributing to full-stack development activities using TypeScript and JavaScript, particularly where applications integrate with AWS services.
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure, deployment and application issues across cloud environments.
  • Working collaboratively with software engineers, architects and other DevOps professionals within an Agile delivery environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience in DevOps Engineering or Platform Engineering.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Strong experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Strong knowledge of GitHub, particularly GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines and workflow automation.
  • Experience with TypeScript and JavaScript, with the ability to contribute to application development when required.
  • Experience designing, implementing and maintaining automated deployment pipelines.
  • Good understanding of cloud security, monitoring, infrastructure automation and platform reliability.
  • Experience working within Agile engineering teams.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience delivering technology solutions within Central Government or the wider UK Public Sector.
  • Experience with Node.js or other JavaScript-based backend technologies.
  • Experience with AWS serverless technologies, including Lambda and API Gateway.
  • Familiarity with React or other modern frontend frameworks.
  • Experience with Docker, observability tooling and cloud-native architectures.
  • Understanding of secure engineering practices within government environments.
