DevOps engineer

Job Description We are urgently looking for a DevOps engineer for Standard bank. The person will be expected to work on a hybrid bases going in 2x a week to the Rosebank office in JHB ( sometimes Simmonds street but not often) BUT the client is moving towards full time back in office at some point so I just want to be fully transparent about this upfront. Culture fit is extremely important for the hiring manager. He is looking for someone vibrant, with a great positive attitude as the team is very friendly and upbeat so they need someone who would fit in well. The rate is between R 90 k – R 100k. Experience Hands on work experience in a hybrid (AWS) cloud environment preferably in the financial sector with PCI-DSS compliant systems. Implementing CI/CD pipeline automation across functional areas AWS workload automation (provisioning infrastructure and custom software configuration rollout) Implementing Observability for hybrid cloud-based environments Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols Troubleshooting low latency & Java based applications in a SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) context Familiarity/applying Platform Engineering principles and practices Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and practices Requirements Technology & tooling Mandatory · AWS Services (EC2, RDS - Postgres & Oracle EE, EBS, EKS, ECS, Load Balancing, Secrets Manager, KMS, Service Catalog) · AWS CDK · Observability tooling - AWS CloudWatch, Splunk / AppDynamics, ELK · CI/CD platforms (e.g. Harness, Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.) · Operating Systems - Linux and Windows server Preferred · Python scripting · AWS CloudFormation · Ansible · Bash scripting Optional · Zabbix monitoring · Keycloak · ActiveMQ · Weblogic 14c · Nginx Personal Attributes Willingness to engage Curiosity Sound communication skills Ability to self-direct Certifications (Beneficial) AWS CloudOps engineer AWS Solutions Architect Associate
