Become a DevOps Engineer, Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you'll design, develop, automate, and support enterprise technology solutions that enable secure, scalable, and reliable delivery of business capabilities across the organization. You'll leverage DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, system monitoring, and software engineering best practices to improve application stability, performance, operational efficiency, and deployment reliability. Partner with technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business teams to troubleshoot complex production issues, implement continuous improvements, and drive operational excellence across critical enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Consults on collection and analysis of system requirements, documentation of specifications, and develops software solutions.
  • Proactively troubleshoots complex issues in the production environment, identifies and prioritizes risks and ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Participates in the development of high-quality software which meets requirements, promotes re-use of software components and facilitates ease of support.
  • Analyses, designs and implements software mechanisms to improve code stability, performance, and reusability.
  • Delivers the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders, including business analysts and project managers, to gather user feedback and recommend solutions to defects found in software.
  • Aids in managing project budgets and timelines in order to ensure projects are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
  • Participates in analysis, quality assurance, and control of all development phases.
  • Stays current with technology, disseminates knowledge to team members, forms best practices. Recognizes opportunities for refining existing processes and takes proactive measures to implement enhancements to increase efficiency.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in information technology development including System Development Lifecycle models, methodologies, and coding standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Experience leading digital engineering, automation, DevOps, AI, or enterprise technology teams.
  • Experience managing technology platforms, products, or shared services using agile or product-based delivery models.
  • Experience with automation, low-code, workflow, or digital development platforms, including Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience with software engineering and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, testing, release management, and code quality.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled solutions, digital assistants, intelligent automation, or generative AI technologies.
  • Experience operating enterprise platforms with a focus on reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Experience leading platform engineering, application development, mobile, or digital workplace initiatives.
  • Experience establishing technology governance, standards, operating models, and best practices.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, managed service providers, and technology contracts.
  • Experience delivering business value through automation, process improvement, digital transformation, or AI adoption.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as utilities, energy, financial services, healthcare, government, or critical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success leading technology modernization, organizational change, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, privacy, risk management, compliance, and enterprise architecture principles.
  • Relevant certifications such as SAFe, Scrum, Microsoft, Azure, GitHub, Power Platform, AI, DevOps, or related credentials.

Additional Information

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA (GO2). However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at an alternate work location.
