Your contribution to something big:

UDL Strategy & Architecture:
• Help design, develop and maintain the Unified Data Layer (UDL), a large-scale data and ML
platform for Bosch Research, ensuring alignment with business objectives, constraints, and best
practices.
• Collaborate on the technical design of UDL, making it into a global, self-service environment for data
discovery, exploration and curation, focused on improving data discovery through effective
interoperability with key systems and lab equipment of Bosch Research, and integration with a data
governance platform.
• Support the architects with the development and maintenance of comprehensive documentation of
UDL, underlying infrastructure and user manual.


Implementation:
• Help design, implement, provision, and maintain the UDL and its cloud resources on Azure using
Terraform.
• Drive Proof-of-Concept activities to expose UDL to corporate agentic platforms and data catalogues.
• Drive the implementation of strong CI/CD processes across the different platform components and
infrastructure.
• Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive endpoints, data, ML models, and other
artefacts.
• Help with the onboarding of on-prem equipment as connected data sources for UDL.
• Implement monitoring dashboards and alerts to proactively identify and resolve platform issues.


Collaboration & Leadership:
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including technical and non-technical
audiences.
• Work closely with researchers, infrastructure teams, and project management to deliver high-quality
data and ML platform.
• Promote DevOps principles and best practices, lead their implementation, and share knowledge
within the team.
• Stay up to date with the latest DevOps trends and technologies and push for state-of-the-art
approaches.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices

What distinguishes you:

Education:
• BSc, MSc or Ph.D. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.


Experience:
• 3 years of experience as DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer,
Platform Engineer, or similar roles.
• 3 years of experience designing, implementing, integrating, and maintaining CI/CD
pipelines.
• 1 year of experience with Azure on professional applications.


Technical Skills:
• Excellent understanding of DevOps principles and practices.
• Very good scripting and automation skills with Python and Bash.
• Very good understanding of Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Good understanding of Kubernetes-based solutions.
• Good understanding of Cloud Networks for security and load balancing.
• Proficient with GNU/Linux systems as key development environment.


Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving skills and resourceful attitude.
• Effective communication skills, team player, and capable of collaborating across functional
areas.
• Proactive, customer and result-oriented personality.
• B2 CEFR level in English, written and spoken.


Nice to have:
• Experience with Agentic Workflows on professional applications.
• Experience managing on-prem systems and/or corporate networks.
• Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments.
• Experience with OpenTofu.
• B2 CEFR level in German, written and spoken.
