The Project: Internal Support Tools Evolution

You are joining an initiative focused on the evolution, modernization of the Internal Application Landscape. This project involves the strategic transition of well-known cloud services and legacy .NET architectures into a next-generation, AI-augmented, and cloud-native software landscape.

Our goal is not simply to "maintain" the existing system, but to proactively transform it—ensuring sovereignty, high-performance scalability, and seamless handover readiness through disciplined engineering.

Our Engineering Philosophy

We operate at the intersection of Legacy Stability and Modern Innovation. Our approach is defined by:

  • AI-Augmented Engineering: We utilize advanced AI development environments (such as Cursor, Windsurf, and Claude Code) and cutting-edge model families to accelerate code comprehension, refactoring, and documentation.

  • Disciplined SDLC Patterns: We move beyond traditional development by implementing repeatable, evidence-based SDLC patterns. Every change is backed by structured engineering evidence and rigorous automated testing.

  • The "Strangler Fig" Modernization: We prioritize risk-mitigated evolution, using sophisticated patterns to wrap, refactor, and eventually replace legacy components.

  • High-Seniority Autonomy: We operate as a lean, highly autonomous unit. We value "technical detectives" who can navigate ambiguity and perform deep reverse engineering.

Mission

To provide the operational backbone and automated delivery foundation for our evolving ecosystem. You will ensure that our transition from legacy deployment methods to modern, cloud-native, and AI-integrated workflows is seamless, stable, and highly observable.

Role Focus

This role emphasizes CI/CD automation, infrastructure stability, and application operations. You are responsible for the platform that enables the team to deploy frequently and safely, managing both traditional infrastructure and modern containerized environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • CI/CD Orchestration: Design and maintain automated pipelines (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, ArgoCD) that support both legacy .NET deployments and modern, containerized/Kubernetes workflows.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Bicep.

  • Application Operations & Reliability: Manage the health and performance of mission-critical applications, ensuring high availability and rapid incident response.

  • Observability & Telemetry: Implement advanced monitoring, logging, and tracing (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry) to provide visibility into legacy and modern services.

  • Operational Automation: Utilize Microsoft Power Automate or PowerApps to create automated operational workflows, such as incident escalation or deployment approval gates.

  • Security & DevSecOps: Integrate security best practices (secrets management, access controls, vulnerability scanning) directly into the delivery pipelines.

  • 5+ years experience in DevOps, SRE, or Systems Engineering, managing enterprise-scale application lifecycles.

  • Hybrid Infrastructure Expertise: Proven experience managing both traditional (VMs, IIS, Windows Server) and modern (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud) environments.

  • Automation Mastery: Expert knowledge of CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

  • Scripting & Coding: Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, and ideally Python or C# for advanced automation tasks.

  • Reliability Mindset: A focus on observability, incident management, and the proactive prevention of system outages in complex environments.
