Concept Solutions, LLC (CS) is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to support a mission-critical application modernization program for a Department of War (DoW) customer. This position is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated start in October 2026.
This initiative will transform how users access and interact with a portfolio of production applications by creating a unified platform featuring single sign-on, a common user interface, and a repeatable approach for integrating applications.
As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will play a key role in building, securing, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure and automated deployment pipelines that support this modernization effort. You will work with modern cloud-native technologies while helping ensure existing mission-critical applications remain operational throughout the transition.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-impact federal modernization initiative using AWS GovCloud, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and secure CI/CD practices.
Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
- Build, configure, and maintain infrastructure as code using OpenTofu and Helm within Kubernetes environments hosted on AWS GovCloud.
- Support the development and operation of a secure, scalable, and reliable application platform.
- Maintain consistency across environments by promoting the same code through established deployment processes.
DevSecOps & CI/CD Automation
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines within the customer's GitLab environment.
- Integrate automated build, security scanning, policy enforcement, testing, evidence collection, and deployment stages into delivery pipelines.
- Apply container security and hardening practices to support secure application deployments.
Platform Operations & Observability
- Operate and maintain the integration gateway and observability stack to support platform reliability and performance.
- Support ongoing platform operations while maintaining the stability of existing production applications.
- Collaborate with technical teams to enable secure, repeatable application onboarding and deployment processes.
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or platform engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized application environments.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Experience using Helm for Kubernetes application deployment and management.
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI.
- Knowledge of container hardening and secure deployment practices.
- Experience working with AWS GovCloud.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Envoy for gateway or proxy functionality.
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry for application and infrastructure observability.
- Experience working with Iron Bank container images.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Ability to meet Tier 5 eligibility requirements if privileged administration is required.
Work Location and Schedule
- Location: Hybrid. Work may be performed from CS headquarters in Reston, Virginia, and approved remote locations within the United States, with on-site work at Government facilities in Northern Virginia and Maryland as required. Government-furnished equipment will be used for all access to Government environments.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern. The team operates in two-week sprints, with a customer demonstration each sprint.
- Travel: 0–10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
- Security Requirement: U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred and may allow an earlier start.
- Compensation: $130,000–$150,000 annual base salary, depending on experience.
