Role We are seeking dynamic professionals to join our team on fellowship. Working on digital change management and editorial policy initiatives within the ISO Central Secretariat (CS) Publishing department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the shift to consistent, digitally authored standards: coaching technical committees on drafting practices aligned with ISO/IEC Directives, effective use of the Online Standards Development (OSD) platform, and future-facing machine-readable / SMART approaches. The role is coaching oriented, focusing on enabling committees and project leaders to draft clear, consistent, and digital-ready documents. The ISO Digital Change Management Fellow supports standards developers throughout the drafting lifecycle by: Coaching and empowering committees to follow best practice (including case studies) when it comes to drafting provisions, aligning terminology and following the rules of the ISO/IEC Directives Part 2 consistently. Demonstrating effective authoring, commenting and comment resolution in OSD. Supporting the transition toward “SMART from the start” drafting practices that facilitate machine readability and future digital services. This role combines training, facilitation, hands on coaching and user support, with a strong focus on adoption, quality improvement and confidence building within technical committees. This is an opportunity for a home-based secondee to master the drafting process, gain a new perspective of the world of international standards, and build new professional relationships. You will get the chance to engage with editorial and content creation teams at the ISO/CS in Geneva, as well as committee experts across the world. You must be familiar with the ISO standards development process and be comfortable with using / presenting digital tools. Everything else will be covered within an engaging 3-month onboarding programme, including a visit to our Geneva office. Key responsibilities Drafting coaching Champion international committee innovations that support quality standards writing. In collaboration with the ISO/CS Editorial Managers, promote the application of clear, concise and consistent drafting practices that facilitate machine readability and future digital services. Provide tailored training and support on specific aspects of the ISO/IEC Directives Part 2 and other drafting-related guidance. Promote consistent messaging and best practices across the ISO network. OSD authoring and workflow support Deliver virtual training sessions on authoring, commenting and project leadership within OSD. Coach users on how structured authoring in OSD supports compliance with the ISO/IEC Directives Part 2. Provide hands‑on support in selected committee meetings where appropriate. Accompany SMART Pilots Help experts test / pilot new OSD plug-ins to support advanced authoring features. Coach experts in validating tagged provisions (e.g. requirements). Feedback and continuous improvement Collect and consolidate user feedback from committees and training sessions to feed into digital policy initiatives Support testing improvements to authoring and drafting related tools and processes. Identify and report where resources, policies or guidance is unclear for users and where further resources may be most impactful. Report to: Head of Publishing, Standardization and Technical Policy
