Digital Design Specialist

10 Design is an international design practice with studios in Asia, America and Europe. We are building our London studio team to serve a growing international workload and for work in the UK. 10 Design is part of the 10N Collective of architecture practices, headquartered in London and working from 20 studios across five continents.

Reporting directly to the UK Digital Design Lead, you will specialise in the practical application of artificial intelligence, automation and data-driven workflows across 10 Design’s UK and international projects. Working closely with project teams, you will identify, test and implement tools that improve design exploration, knowledge access, model checking, coordination, visualisation and project delivery. BIM and advanced Revit capability are essential requirements and provide the technical foundation for integrating AI-enabled workflows into live architectural projects. You will contribute to the global 10N technology strategy through implementation, documentation and knowledge sharing, within priorities and governance set by the UK Digital Design Lead and Head of Digital.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project BIM Setup, Standards, Documentation

• Lead or support the setup of Revit projects, including models, worksets, coordinates, links, templates, family libraries views, sheets and shared parameters.

• Implement and promote practice BIM standards, templates, protocols and workflows across project teams.

• Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), responsibility matrices, and project BIM documentation.

• Develop workflows that align with client information requirements, internal QA processes and ISO 19650 principles.

• Monitor model health, file structure, naming conventions and data integrity

• Contribute to structured information delivery planning, including awareness of the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) and Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP) processes as defined under ISO 19650.

BIM + Model Management

• Provide day-to-day BIM and Revit coordination across all project work stages.

• Coordinate architectural models with other design team disciplines’ models.

• Contribute to federated model workflows, including clash detection, issue tracking and model exchange.

• Undertake model audits, clash reviews and drawing-output checks to support accurate and coordinated information.

• Resolve model coordination issues efficiently, including linked models, families, views, sheets and data consistency.

Common Data Environment Governance & Information Coordination

• Support the setup and governance of Common Data Environments in accordance with project protocols, using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), ProjectWise or similar platforms.

• Define and communicate requirements for model exchanges, issue tracking and information workflows. Routine uploads and transmittals should remain with the relevant project team, with the Digital Design Specialist providing guidance and oversight.

• Undertake periodic checks of information structure, naming and model exchange processes, escalating recurring or material non-compliance where appropriate.

• Support digital handover processes, including structured model data, asset information and COBie where applicable.

AI, Automation + Innovation

• Identify, test and implement AI-assisted workflows that improve design quality, project coordination, information access and delivery efficiency, under the direction of the UK Digital Design Lead.

• Develop proofs of concept, document outcomes and support the controlled adoption of AI tools, plug-ins and automated workflows within live project environments.

• Connect AI and automation initiatives with BIM data, openBIM workflows, IFC and interoperability processes.

• Evaluate emerging technologies, including generative AI, machine learning, automation, computational design and data-driven workflows, and translate relevant opportunities into practical, secure and scalable applications.

Teams Support + Training

• Provide practical Revit support and troubleshooting to project teams.

• Support the development of Revit templates, families, shared parameters and content libraries, with a focus on structured data that can enable automation and AI-assisted workflows.

• Deliver or support internal training, guidance and knowledge-sharing on BIM, AI-assisted tools, automation and responsible digital practice.

• Promote consistent, efficient and high-quality modelling practices across the studio.

• Act as a first point of contact for BIM/Revit queries, escalating complex issues where appropriate.

Education

• Degree in architecture, engineering, architectural technology, or a related relevant field.

• Revit exam certification is beneficial

Experience

• 3+ years’ experience in digital design or BIM within an architectural practice, together with practical evidence of applying AI-assisted tools, automation or data-driven methods to project workflows.

• Experience coordinating with models from other design team disciplines.

• Working knowledge of clash detection, model auditing and issue management processes.

• Familiarity with the UK BIM Framework and ISO 19650 principles, including BEPs and CDE workflows.

Essential software proficiency

• Advanced Revit proficiency, with experience across multiple RIBA stages.

• Strong understanding of model setup, coordinates, worksharing, linked models and drawing production workflows.

• Proficiency with BIM tools and platforms such as Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Autodesk Forma, Revizto, Solibri or similar.

Desirable software proficiency

• Experience contributing to BIM setup, BEPs and client information requirements (EIR/AIR).

• Experience managing Revit content libraries and standards.

• Experience driving automation on projects using Dynamo visual scripting, or C# programming.

• Experience managing interoperability workflows with Rhino using tools such as Rhino.Inside or Beam

• Experience working with real-time rendering tools such as Enscape or Twinmotion.

Working Arrangements

• Right to work in the UK is required.

• Hybrid working with a minimum of 4 days per week in the London studio, requiring flexibility depending on project requirements and business needs

• The role may involve working across multiple projects and teams.

• Other duties may be required in line with the needs of the business.
