Role We are seeking dynamic professionals to join our team on fellowship. Working on digital editorial project initiatives within the ISO Central Secretariat (CS) Production unit and Editing team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the shift to consistent, digitally authored standards. You will manage projects related to drafting practices aligned with the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2, the ISO House Style, and promoting the effective use of the Online Standards Development (OSD) platform, XML-first workflows and other machine-readable / SMART approaches. The role is editorial and project-oriented, focusing on enabling the Production unit and Editing team to output consistent and digital-ready documents. The ISO Digital Editorial Project Support Fellow supports the Editing team throughout the production lifecycle by: • Working on project-based assignments with ISO/CS Editorial Managers to support the production of digital publications (either in OSD, SMART, XML-first workflows and other digital publishing initiatives). • Developing strong expertise in the authoring features of the OSD. • Providing the Editing team with technical support for digital publishing and facilitate collaboration between the Editing team and other teams in the Production unit. • Liaising between the Editorial Managers, the helpdesk and XML support to resolve issues and improve production output. • Providing project-based support to the Head of Production, including OSD and XML quality checks as well as support to define the future best process for OSD and SMART products. • Providing project-based support to the Editorial Team Leader. This role combines tool expertise, digital publishing support and project management, with a strong focus on digital problem solving, digital publishing adoption and change management support within the Editing team. This is an opportunity for a home-based fellow to be part of the digital publishing transformation, learn the digital publishing tools and ISO/CS drafting and standards development processes, gain a new perspective of the world of international standards, and build new professional relationships. You will get the chance to engage with editorial, production and IT teams at the ISO/CS in Geneva, as well as committee experts around the world. There will be a 3-month onboarding programme for training in the tools, including a visit to our Geneva office. Editorial support and troubleshooting • Project-based editorial support and troubleshooting issues related to digital publishing tools. • Act as liaison between Editorial Managers, ISO/CS helpdesk and Technical Committees on OSD related queries • Promote best practices within the Editing team and Production unit for OSD or other digital initiatives. • Participate in Editing team and Production unit meetings 2. OSD authoring and workflow support • Develop specialist expertise in OSD features and XML-first workflows to support the Editing team, Head of Production and Technical Committees. • Provide project management support, as needed. 3. Feedback and continuous improvement • Gather and consolidate user experience to support continuous improvement of tools, processes and digital publishing initiatives • Contribute to testing enhancements to authoring and drafting tools and workflows. • Identify gaps or ambiguities in resources, policies and guidance, and highlight areas where further resources would have impact.
