What You’ll Do

• Lead the engineering teams supporting IL5 and IL6 environments, setting priorities, assigning work, and reviewing deliverables
• Engage with Clients as a Technical Subject Matter Expert to aid technical, training, and troubleshooting discussions
• Ensure CI/CD applications, databases, and tools hosted on the supporting Kubernetes platform are operational and functioning within the pipeline
• Lead incident response for the PaaS and SaaS layers and coordinate security events with the ISSM
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and DSO-CI/CD technologies
• Support of Database and API communication development activities (Training available on current DEE solutions)
• Prepare technical documentation including standard procedures, reports, research and cost analysis
• Coordinate with the IaaS provider on capacity, dependencies, change windows, and escalations affecting PaaS and SaaS services
• Own project delivery from implementation through testing and production for PaaS and SaaS capabilities
• Ensure IL5 and IL6 environments are operational, available, and monitored, and resolve issues that affect digital engineering, AI, Atlassian, agile, and customer engagement workflows
• Maintain the PaaS and SaaS technical roadmap and architecture decisions across IL5 and IL6, aligned with the Digital Ecosystem Director's priorities
• Translate customer needs into solutions that are logical, feasible, affordable, on the roadmap, and tracked
• Hold authority over PaaS and SaaS architecture decisions and operations, and provide influence and advocacy to the IaaS provider and the ISSM so that security controls, ATO requirements, and change control are met
• Coordinate platform requirements, onboarding, and support with the Digital Engineering, AI, DevTeam, Scrum, and CEM leads
• Provide input on staffing, performance, and training for team members, and mentor engineers on PaaS and SaaS operations
• Report status, risks, and cost estimates to the Digital Ecosystem Director
• Must be able to effectively communicate with users at all skill levels and document unique issues and solutions in a support knowledgebase or procedure/policy documents
• Update and maintain electronic records with accurate data

Required

• Must Be a US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance (Top Secret Preferred)
• Must be customer-service and results-oriented, an experienced problem solver who seeks assistance, when necessary, a self-starter with excellent oral and effective written communication skills, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and an experienced decisionmaker
• Experience leading technical teams and making priority and resourcing decisions across multiple programs
• 10+ years of experience with computer systems support, server installation and support, network administration, containerization technologies, and large enterprise scale platforms, including 3+ years leading technical teams
• Experience troubleshooting complex network and systems infrastructure issues
• Experience with Linux Administration
• Experience with Kubernetes Administration, Containers, and pod networking
• Experience installing software, patches, and updates for K8s
• Experience working with the DOD cybersecurity framework
• Hands-on experience with deployment and/or support of K8s
• Experience managing IL5 and IL6 PaaS or SaaS environments
• Experience with devops automation tooling (eg. Helm Charts/Ansible/Cloud Formation)
• Experience with Active Directory and Windows Servers is a plus
• Experience with Platform One Big Bang, Party Bus, and Iron Bank (Preferred)
• Must have experience with scripting (Python, Bash, Go) for automation tasks
• Must have CompTIA Security + (CE) certification
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (advanced degrees preferred)
• Experience in 2 or more of the following areas:
  • Experience with Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with DoD-specific cloud platforms such as ARCUS, CloudOne, or RogueOne
  • Experience administering Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) or supporting custom applications
  • Experience with digital engineering or model-based systems engineering toolchains
  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience supporting AI or data platform workloads

Compensation
Compensation will be determined in partnership with the Hiring Manager and may vary based on factors such as contract and labor category alignment, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications or licenses, and geographic location.
