Job Description Digital Marketing Specialist Remote, South Africa | UK Hours | B2B Digital & Event Marketing Location Remote – South Africa Working hours 9:00–17:00 UK time, with some flexibility once settled Leave 25 days annual leave + UK bank holidays + 23 December through New Year Core focus Paid media, SEO, analytics and broader B2B campaign marketing About the Role We are looking for a commercially minded Digital Marketing Specialist to take ownership of the core digital marketing function for a B2B training and events business. The role will bring activity currently managed across external contractors and internal team members into one dedicated position, creating greater focus, consistency and visibility across lead-generation activity. Paid advertising and SEO are the clear priorities. The successful person should be confident managing digital campaigns independently, interpreting performance data and making practical improvements without requiring significant day-to-day handholding. Over time, the role will also support broader campaign, email, social and content marketing activity. Key Responsibilities Own and manage paid advertising across Google PPC, Bing Ads and LinkedIn Ads, including campaign setup, optimisation and ongoing budget/performance monitoring. Build, test and refine advertising campaigns using A/B testing and performance insights to improve lead generation and conversion outcomes. Lead SEO activity, taking over an existing roadmap while using your own expertise to improve or adapt the strategy where appropriate. Drive on-page and off-page SEO improvements, including content optimisation, keyword-led activity and backlink development. Use Google Analytics and other existing website/marketing tools to connect performance data, identify trends and provide clear reporting and recommendations. Monitor campaign performance closely, identify what is and is not working, and proactively make changes to improve results. Support B2B event and course marketing by developing campaign plans around upcoming training programmes and events. Create and coordinate email campaigns to existing databases and relevant audiences, including management of automated workflows. Support and develop organic social media activity, primarily on LinkedIn, with scope to explore additional channels where commercially relevant. Lead or coordinate content marketing initiatives such as articles, trainer interviews and other campaign content. Work collaboratively with the wider team, bringing ideas and recommendations that strengthen the overall marketing approach. What We Are Looking For Hands-on experience in a digital marketing role with strong exposure to paid media and SEO. Practical experience managing Google Ads/PPC campaigns; experience with Bing Ads and LinkedIn Ads is highly advantageous. Good working knowledge of SEO and the ability to independently implement and improve an existing SEO roadmap. Experience monitoring, analysing and optimising campaigns using data rather than simply executing activity. Working knowledge of Google Analytics; experience with Google Tag Manager or similar tracking tools would be advantageous. Confidence with A/B testing, campaign reporting and translating results into practical recommendations. Broader campaign marketing capability across email, social media and content. A proactive, self-sufficient approach with the confidence to take ownership of the function and work with limited supervision. Strong written communication and content skills, with a commercial and creative mindset. Nice to Have Experience in B2B marketing, particularly within training, education, professional services or an events-led business. Experience marketing courses, events or services where campaigns are built around specific launch or delivery dates. Exposure to marketing automation and email workflow management. Experience taking an outsourced or fragmented marketing function in-house and creating a more joined-up approach. What Success Looks Like Paid advertising accounts are actively managed, measured and continuously optimised. SEO activity progresses against a clear plan, with improvements driven by both the existing roadmap and new recommendations. Marketing data is used more effectively to understand lead sources, campaign performance and conversion opportunities. The wider team has clear visibility of what is working, what needs attention and where marketing spend can be improved. Over time, campaign, email and content activity becomes more coordinated and less reliant on senior team members or multiple external contractors. Working Pattern & Benefits Fully remote position based in South Africa. Standard working hours of 9:00–17:00 UK time. Once established in the role, there may be flexibility to start and finish slightly earlier, including around daylight-saving changes. 25 days annual leave plus UK bank holidays. Additional company closure from 23 December through to the New Year. Interview Process The anticipated process is two stages: an initial interview focused on experience and fit, followed by a second-stage discussion that may include a short, practical marketing task or presentation to demonstrate approach and expertise.
