Digital Media & Design Intern
Rokin Research | Stockholm, Sweden (Remote)
Type: Internship | Flexible, part-time
Compensation: Unpaid educational internship
Location: Remote, open to applicants across Sweden/EU/EAA
About Rokin Research
Rokin Research is an independent research initiative exploring how economic, technological, political, and structural change affects the real economy.
Our work spans infrastructure, technology, energy, industry, markets, and investment. We combine accessible research articles with technical reports and quantitative models to make complex economic questions understandable.
We're developing our digital presence and visual identity, and we're looking for a creative, curious intern interested in design, digital communication, and social media.
The Opportunity
As a Digital Media & Design Intern, you'll explore how research can be transformed into engaging visual content and communicated to a wider audience.
Depending on your interests and experience, your activities may include:
Digital & Graphic Design
- Designing graphics, infographics, charts, and visual explanations.
- Developing layouts for research publications and technical reports.
- Creating visual templates and strengthening Rokin's brand identity.
- Experimenting with typography, colour, composition, and information design.
Social Media & Content
- Creating visual content for Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
- Helping plan and organise social media content.
- Turning research findings into engaging carousels, posts, and short-form content.
- Drafting captions and adapting research insights for different audiences.
- Supporting content scheduling, publishing, and audience engagement.
- Exploring social media trends and reviewing basic performance metrics.
Creative Development
- Contributing ideas for campaigns and new digital formats.
- Exploring ways to make complex subjects more accessible and engaging.
- Collaborating on the visual direction of an emerging international research publication.
Who We're Looking For
We're interested in students or emerging creatives studying graphic design, digital media, visual communication, marketing, multimedia, or related subjects.
Ideally, you have:
- A good visual eye and an interest in creative storytelling.
- Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar software.
- An understanding of social media platforms, particularly Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Good written English.
- Creativity, curiosity, and the ability to work independently.
- An interest in learning and developing practical skills.
Experience with video editing, motion graphics, content creation, or social media management is a plus, but not required.
You do not need an economics background. We'll provide the research context needed for each project.
What You'll Gain
This is intended to be a structured learning experience combining creativity, practical projects, and professional development.
- Portfolio development: Opportunities to create visual content and publication designs based on real research.
- Specialist tutoring: Access to externally funded design or digital media lessons, tailored to agreed learning objectives.
- Creative involvement: Opportunities to contribute ideas and help shape Rokin's developing visual identity.
How to Apply:
Please submit your CV and a link to your portfolio, Behance profile, or a PDF showcasing your work.
Include a few sentences explaining what interests you about editorial design, information visualisation, or communicating complex subjects.
