Join us in creating a better world for animals

At World Animal Protection, we rely on the generosity and commitment of supporters to help create lasting change for animals around the world. We are looking for a Direct Channels Fundraiser to deliver high-quality fundraising activity across the UK market, helping ensure supporters have meaningful opportunities to engage with and support our work.

Working within our Growth & Engagement team, you will be the operational fundraising specialist for the UK, delivering direct mail appeals, telemarketing campaigns and other direct fundraising activities. You will work closely with colleagues across fundraising, product development, supporter journeys, legal and governance functions, while managing relationships with external suppliers and agencies to ensure fundraising activity is delivered effectively, compliantly and to a high standard.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional who enjoys campaign delivery, supplier management and ensuring supporters receive a high-quality and engaging experience.

What you will be doing

  • Delivering direct fundraising activity across the UK market in line with organisational priorities and objectives.
  • Planning and implementing direct mail appeals, telemarketing campaigns and other locally delivered fundraising activities.
  • Providing local fundraising expertise to support the effective adaptation and delivery of fundraising products within the UK.
  • Managing relationships with fulfilment houses, mailing providers, telemarketing agencies and other operational suppliers.
  • Coordinating campaign production, print, mailing, fulfilment and supporter response handling activities.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and campaign delivery, identifying issues and implementing practical solutions to maintain quality standards.
  • Working with Governance & Legal Services to ensure fundraising activity complies with relevant legislation, regulations, industry codes and organisational policies.
  • Using market insight, campaign results and operational data to identify opportunities to improve future fundraising performance.
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues across markets and functions to support effective fundraising delivery and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for

We would love to hear from you if you bring:
  • Significant experience delivering direct fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, telemarketing or similar fundraising activities.
  • A strong understanding of fundraising operations, including campaign planning, production, fulfilment, supporter response handling and supplier management.
  • Experience managing relationships with fulfilment houses, mailing providers, telemarketing agencies or other external suppliers.
  • Knowledge of fundraising legislation, regulation and industry codes relevant to the UK market.
  • The ability to translate fundraising priorities into effective operational delivery and supporter-facing activity.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, working effectively with colleagues, suppliers and external partners.
  • The ability to identify operational issues, recommend practical improvements and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organisational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities simultaneously.
Experience working in fundraising, marketing or not-for-profit organisations, and familiarity with CRM systems or fundraising campaign management processes, would be an advantage but is not essential.
