Director, Alliance Partnerships & Government Affairs Washington, DC - Washington, DC 20004 Apply Overview Salary Range $122,350.00 - $138,300.00 Salary Position Type Full-Time Education Level Bachelor's Degree Required Travel Percentage Up to 10%, Domestic Category Government Affairs Apply Description Director, Alliance Partnerships & Government Affairs Department / Supervisor: Alliance Dev/State Affairs [19] / Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, Head of State Government & Regional Affairs, Head of Alliance Partnerships FLSA Status: Exempt Purpose of Position The Director, Alliance Partnerships & Government Affairs executes assigned federal legislative, regulatory, and appropriations initiatives and manages strategic relationships with patient advocacy organizations, physician societies, provider groups, and other external stakeholders that support AdvaMed advocacy priorities. Working closely with member companies, alliance partners, policymakers, and colleagues across AdvaMed, the Director advances advocacy objectives through federal engagement, coalition coordination, member support, and stakeholder relationship management. The Director serves as the primary staff contact for assigned member-company sectors and represents AdvaMed in congressional, coalition, and public forums. Essential Duties of Position Federal Advocacy & Policy Execution Executes assigned federal legislative, regulatory, and appropriations initiatives Conducts advocacy with congressional offices, Administration officials, federal agencies, and other policy stakeholders Monitors legislative and regulatory developments and communicates implications to members and internal stakeholders Coordinates congressional engagement activities, including Hill Days, briefings, fly-ins, and stakeholder meetings Develops briefing materials, talking points, issue summaries, correspondence, and other advocacy communications Represents AdvaMed in meetings, hearings, conferences, and other external forums Alliance Partnerships & Coalition Engagement Builds and maintains productive relationships with patient advocacy organizations, physician societies, provider groups, trade associations, and other external stakeholders Identifies opportunities for collaboration that support established AdvaMed advocacy priorities Coordinates alliance activities, stakeholder meetings, and coalition engagement efforts Facilitates information-sharing and coordinated action among external partners Represents AdvaMed in coalition meetings, conferences, panels, and stakeholder events Evaluates participation and engagement outcomes and recommends adjustments when appropriate Member Engagement & Sector Support Serves as the primary staff contact for assigned Radiation Therapy and Focused Ultrasound member companies Maintains strong working relationships with member-company executives, government affairs professionals, and subject-matter experts Coordinates member input regarding legislative, regulatory, and stakeholder-engagement activities Facilitates consensus-building among member companies when priorities or perspectives differ Communicates relevant policy and political developments affecting assigned sectors Project Management & Internal Collaboration Works collaboratively with Government Affairs, Health Policy, Communications, Conferences & Events, Membership, Legal, and other AdvaMed teams Coordinates internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution of assigned initiatives Manages multiple concurrent advocacy, alliance, and member-engagement responsibilities Tracks project milestones, commitments, budgets, and deliverables Communicates progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders Identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of assigned programs and processes Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of federal legislative, regulatory, and appropriations processes Experience executing advocacy, coalition-management, stakeholder-engagement, or public-policy initiatives Ability to build productive relationships with policymakers, member companies, patient organizations, provider groups, professional societies, and other stakeholders Strong consensus-building, facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to translate complex policy issues into clear and actionable communications Strong project-management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities Ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, accountability, and attention to detail Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Specifications Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred Minimum Experience Required: Minimum of six years of relevant experience in federal government affairs, advocacy, public policy, coalition management, stakeholder engagement, trade association work, or a related field. Travel Required: Up to 10% domestic travel Hybrid Work Policy: Teleworker: Employees report onsite regularly with some duties performed at home-based or alternative worksites within the Washington, DC Metropolitan area (DC, MD, VA).
