This role will serve as a key liaison between Investment Management, Trading, Operations, Product Owners, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and external partners, ensuring that business priorities are translated into clear, actionable requirements and scalable technology solutions.

The Director will work with a team of Business Analysts responsible for supporting complex investment platforms, business processes, data workflows, and strategic initiatives. The role requires a strong understanding of the investment management lifecycle, including portfolio management, trading, compliance, operations, accounting, market and reference data, and downstream reporting.

Working closely with Product Owners, senior business leaders, engineering teams, and other technology partners, the Director will establish and promote consistent business analysis practices, ensure requirements are well defined and traceable, identify cross-platform dependencies and risks, and help drive initiatives from concept through implementation and production readiness.

The successful candidate will combine strong investment-domain knowledge, technology acumen, people leadership, and strategic thinking with the ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities and stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the Business Analysis function across investment management and technology platforms, establishing clear expectations, standards, and best practices across the team.
  • Strengthen Business Analysis capabilities by sharing investment-domain knowledge, technical expertise, stakeholder management practices, and BA best practices with colleagues.
  • Partner with Product Owners and senior business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, define business outcomes, assess priorities, and translate complex needs into actionable technology initiatives.
  • Lead the analysis of complex business processes across portfolio management, trading, compliance, investment operations, accounting, data management, and reporting.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, process flows, data requirements, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
  • Establish strong requirements governance and traceability, ensuring business objectives remain aligned with delivered solutions throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, requirements workshops, process reviews, and solution discussions involving business, Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and external partners
  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce manual processes, improve controls, enhance data quality, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Assess business impacts, dependencies, risks, and implementation considerations across interconnected investment platforms and workflows.
  • Partner with Technology and Architecture teams to ensure proposed solutions appropriately address business requirements while considering scalability, maintainability, data architecture, integration, security, and enterprise technology standards.
  • Provide oversight and direction for user acceptance testing, implementation readiness, business validation, and post-production stabilization.
  • Support Product Owners with backlog management, prioritization, roadmap development, and refinement of business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure effective coordination across concurrent projects and BAU initiatives, proactively identifying resource constraints, cross-project dependencies, delivery risks, and competing priorities.
  • Build strong working relationships with external vendors and strategic partners supporting investment platforms, data, and business processes.
  • Promote continuous improvement across the Business Analysis practice by establishing reusable standards, templates, documentation practices, and knowledge-sharing processes.
  • Partner with leadership to develop longer-term capabilities and operating models that support the evolving needs of the investment organization.
