About the role
Siege Media is a full service GEO/AI search agency. Over time, we’ve realized that CRO is GEO. We’d like to hire a great leader to both deliver great direct outcomes, but also LLM outcomes as well.
You will found and lead it: run CRO end to end for our first clients, define how Siege does CRO, and grow the team as the service scales.
Many of our clients are SaaS, fintech and e-commerce/consumer. We have a mix of high volume clients with enough A/B testing demand, and a smaller set that don’t. Ideally, you will be as comfortable shipping a research-backed redesign of a pricing page that gets 40 demo requests a month as you are running a properly powered test on an ecommerce checkout. You choose the right method for the traffic on hand, get changes live with our design and development team, and prove impact either way.
What you'll do
Own the CRO strategy and results for a portfolio of clients, with the goal of building a team under you to execute the work as demand grows
Run A/B and multivariate programs where volume allows: hypothesis backlog, prioritization, test design, sample-size and duration math, QA, analysis, rollout
Run research-led optimization for low-volume sites: blog post CRO improvements, heuristic audits, moderated user tests, session replay and heatmaps, on-site and post-conversion surveys, message testing, competitive teardowns
Turn findings into specific, buildable recommendations (wireframes, copy, annotated mockups, acceptance criteria) and hand them to Siege designers and developers for implementation; QA what ships
Measure impact honestly: test readouts at agreed confidence for testable sites; pre/post KPI reads with seasonality control for the rest; no p-values where they don't belong
Build the practice: methodology, deliverable templates, tiering rules (when we test vs. recommend), tooling stack, pricing inputs, and case studies
Support sales: scope CRO for prospects, contribute to proposal decks and calls, and run a fixed-scope CRO audit product for clients below the testing threshold
Partner with SEO/GEO, Content, and Analytics teams so landing pages built for traffic are also built to convert, and so conversion tracking is in place before optimization starts
Hire and manage CRO strategists and analysts as the practice grows
What we're looking for
6+ years in CRO or experimentation, with at least 3 years client-facing at an agency or consultancy
Documented results on both kinds of site: powered A/B programs and low-traffic, research-led optimization (we will ask for examples of each)
Fluency in GA4, a testing platform (VWO, Optimizely, Convert, or similar), session replay and heatmap tools (Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, FullStory, Contentsquare), and a user-testing platform (UserTesting, Maze, Wynter)
Working statistics: power, minimum detectable effect, peeking, Bayesian vs. frequentist reads, and when none of it applies
UX and persuasion judgment: you can critique a page without data and be right most of the time, and explain why
Strong writing and presentation: client recommendations that a CMO acts on and a developer can build from
Enough HTML/CSS/JS and tag-management knowledge to QA tests and implementations
Experience building a service, playbook, or team from zero is a strong plus
B2B SaaS and lead-gen experience is a strong plus; Shopify and ecommerce experience is a plus
Success in the first 12 months
CRO methodology, tiering rules, and deliverable templates documented and in use
Full ownership of 4 to 5 client programs with measured conversion lift on the majority
At least one client sold within the first six months
A repeatable audit product sold to at least 3 clients below the testing threshold
Two publishable case studies
