Director, Creative Technology (US)

The Director of Creative Technology leads enterprise transformations by architecting scalable, AI-native visual production pipelines across 3D asset generation, motion design, and generative AI architectures. You will lead cross-functional pods of creative technologists, set production engineering standards, and navigate high-stakes technical diplomacy across executive marketing, IT, and creative leadership. WHAT YOU'LL DO Architect enterprise visual automation systems connecting 3D DCC environments, motion graphics renderers, generative APIs (Adobe Firefly Services), and client DAM platforms Establish technical standards for local GPU compute vs. cloud API load balancing, render token efficiency, and failover architecture across global rollouts (30+ regional markets) Serve as the senior technical lead and creative diplomat in client engagements, building trust with skeptical Executive Creative Directors and lead 3D artists Drive adoption of modern pipeline paradigms, including MCP-driven agentic workflows, custom node-graph architectures, and automated render pipelines WHAT YOU'LL NEED 8+ years in Creative Technology, 3D Pipeline Engineering, or Visual R&D leadership Track record of architecting scriptable 3D and motion pipelines (Python, USD/glTF, Blender, After Effects) Expertise in enterprise generative architectures, hybrid render infrastructures (on-prem GPU vs. cloud API), and enterprise DAM integrations Superior executive presence and technical diplomacy skills ABOUT US Born in 2001, Code and Theory is a digital-first creative agency that sits at the center of creativity and technology. We're open to hiring at the level that best matches the right candidate's experience. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, budget, and location.
