This role serves as the bridge between business operations and technology, ensuring digital solutions improve customer experience, increase employee productivity, enhance operational efficiency, and support FSG's long-term growth strategy.

Position Summary


The Director, Digital Tools leads the implementation, enhancement, governance, and adoption of business technologies that support Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Corporate functions.

This role partners closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, Marketing, HR, and IT teams to identify opportunities where technology can simplify workflows, improve data quality, automate manual processes, and deliver measurable business value.

The Director will serve as the business owner for key digital platforms, prioritize enhancement opportunities, drive user adoption, and ensure technology investments generate meaningful operational and financial returns.

Key Responsibilities

1. Digital Tool Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and execute the roadmap for business-facing digital tools and technologies.
  • Prioritize enhancements, integrations, and new capabilities based on business value.
  • Establish governance, standards, and adoption expectations for digital platforms.
  • Ensure digital initiatives align with enterprise objectives and operational priorities.

2. Business Partnering & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing leaders to identify technology-enabled improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business needs into actionable technology solutions.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement scalable digital solutions.
  • Champion continuous improvement and automation initiatives.

3. Adoption & Change Management

  • Drive enterprise adoption of digital tools through communication, training, and support.
  • Develop metrics and reporting to monitor utilization and effectiveness.
  • Partner with business leaders to promote accountability for adoption.
  • Lead change management efforts for major technology initiatives.

4. Data, Reporting & Analytics

  • Support development of dashboards and reporting tools that improve business visibility.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define key performance indicators and success metrics.
  • Promote data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across systems.
  • Leverage analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and operational improvements.

5. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a liaison between business teams, IT, vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Manage priorities, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communication.
  • Support M&A integration activities related to digital tools and business systems.


Requirements

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • 7+ years of experience in business systems, digital transformation, operations, technology, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise software implementations or digital initiatives.
  • Experience driving change management and technology adoption.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to influence across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, building products, construction, or industrial markets.
  • Experience with CRM, ERP, eCommerce, analytics, or productivity platforms.
  • Background in business process improvement and automation.
  • Experience in a high-growth or private-equity-backed environment.
  • Familiarity with acquisition integration activities and scalable operating models.
