At Achieve Life Sciences, you’ll help build the commercial capabilities needed to support the potential launch of cytisinicline, an innovative treatment in development for nicotine dependence. As we prepare to bring cytisinicline to market, we’re building a field organization and commercial infrastructure designed to engage healthcare professionals effectively and deliver a coordinated customer experience.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Commercial Operations, the Director, Field Analytics & Operations will lead the strategy and execution behind field deployment, incentive compensation, commercial systems, field performance analytics, and coordinated HCP engagement. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can move from executive-level planning to detailed operational problem-solving in a lean, launch-stage organization.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Field Strategy & Deployment: Own the field effectiveness roadmap, including field force sizing, territory design and alignment, HCP/HCO targeting, segmentation, and call planning to support launch readiness and commercial objectives.
- Own Incentive Compensation: Design and administer incentive compensation plans, quota methodology, crediting rules, payout calculations, and dispute resolution. Establish governance with Finance, HR, Legal, and Compliance.
- Manage Commercial Systems: Serve as the commercial business owner for field-facing CRM and technology, including platforms such as Veeva. Translate field needs into system requirements and drive configuration, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Build Field Analytics & Reporting: Establish trusted performance dashboards, territory and account scorecards, call activity reporting, quota attainment views, and launch KPIs. Use automation and AI where they meaningfully improve decision-making.
- Coordinate HCP Engagement: Help shape an integrated customer engagement model that connects in-person, virtual, and remote field interactions with approved email, digital marketing, speaker programs, and other non-personal channels.
- Operationalize Omnichannel Strategy: Partner with Marketing, Digital/Omnichannel, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Patient Services to coordinate customer journeys, engagement triggers, and next-best-action recommendations.
- Connect Data & Insights: Integrate field and non-personal engagement data to build a unified view of HCP engagement. Translate performance trends and customer insights into recommendations for targeting, deployment, and resource allocation.
- Establish Field Governance: Develop scalable processes, controls, and change management practices that support reliable execution, transparent performance measurement, and compliant field operations.
- Lead Cross-Functional Planning: Partner with Sales, Finance, HR, Legal/Compliance, IT, and Data Strategy & Operations to align priorities, manage dependencies, and translate commercial objectives into field-ready capabilities.
- Manage Resources & Vendors: Oversee field operations vendors, budget planning, and capability investments, balancing launch requirements, organizational capacity, and cost.
- Build for Scale: Initially operate as the function’s primary subject matter expert, supported by external partners, with the opportunity to build a team as the organization grows.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or life sciences discipline.
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, with substantial experience in field operations, sales operations, commercial operations, field effectiveness, incentive compensation, or launch readiness.
- Experience supporting multiple U.S. specialty pharmaceutical or biotech launches, including field deployment, territory alignment, incentive compensation, CRM, and performance reporting.
- Demonstrated ownership of field operations or field effectiveness, including vendor management, cross-functional decision-making, and senior stakeholder engagement.
- Hands-on experience defining requirements for and overseeing CRM, incentive compensation, territory alignment, and field reporting platforms.
- Experience coordinating personal and non-personal HCP engagement channels as part of an integrated customer engagement strategy.
- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical commercial compliance, including applicable promotional requirements, PhRMA Code standards, HCP data privacy and consent, and incentive compensation controls.
- Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel and experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar business intelligence platforms. SQL experience is preferred.
- Strong business judgment, communication skills, and the ability to translate complex operational analysis into clear recommendations.
