Who we are
At Sonova, we envision a world where everyone can enjoy the delight of hearing. This vision inspires us and fuels our commitment to developing innovative solutions that improve hearing health and human connection - from personal audio devices and wireless communication systems to hearing aids and cochlear implants. We're dedicated to providing outstanding customer experiences through our global audiological care services, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to engage fully with the world around them.
Here you’ll find a diverse range of opportunities that span both consumer and medical solutions and the freedom to shape your career while making an impact on the lives of others. Join us in our mission to create a more connected world, where every voice is heard and every story matters.
As Director Finance, Marketing & Sales Excellence EMEALA, you will be a strategic finance partner helping to shape how we invest, grow, and improve commercial performance across the region. Working at the intersection of Finance, Marketing and Sales, you will turn financial and commercial data into forward-looking insights that enable better decisions, stronger performance, and more effective investment.
With approximately CHF 200 million in annual advertising and promotion investment across the region, this role offers significant scope to influence how resources are deployed to drive profitable growth. In return for your financial expertise, commercial curiosity, and ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders, you’ll have the opportunity to partner with regional leadership, shape key commercial decisions and help transform Finance into an increasingly proactive, insight-led business partner.
More about the role
- Shape the financial strategy for Marketing and Sales Excellence across EMEALA, connecting commercial priorities, financial goals, and investment decisions to drive sustainable, profitable growth.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and medium-term planning for Marketing and Sales Excellence, challenging underlying assumptions and translating country and market plans into a robust regional view.
- Drive greater effectiveness from approximately CHF 200 million in annual advertising and promotion investment, strengthening financial governance and optimizing channel and media mix to improve return on advertising spend (ROAS).
- Develop forward-looking forecasting, scenario-planning and predictive capabilities across the sales and marketing funnel, providing greater visibility of performance, opportunities, risks, and future investment needs.
- Act as a strategic finance partner to senior regional leaders and operating units, developing business cases, evaluating growth opportunities, and providing actionable insights that improve commercial and financial decision-making.
- Lead the financial perspective on product and portfolio offerings and pricing, combining financial insight with competitor and consumer considerations to identify opportunities to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement across Marketing and Sales Excellence reporting, forecasting, and insight generation, leveraging digital and AI-enabled tools to improve speed, quality, and effectiveness.
More about you
What you’ll need:
- A master’s degree in business administration, Finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification such as CPA.
- 8-10 years of progressive financial management experience, ideally gained through a combination of consulting, commercial finance, business partnering or other fast-moving, international environments.
- Highly developed finance, business controlling and analytical capabilities, with the ability to move beyond the numbers and translate complex analysis into clear commercial insights and recommendations.
- Strong commercial and strategic thinking, with experience in financial planning, forecasting, scenario modelling, investment evaluation, performance management, and business case development.
- The credibility and communication skills to partner with and influence senior leaders across Finance, Marketing, Sales, and other functions in an international, matrix organization.
- A proactive, results-oriented approach, with the ability to challenge constructively, drive change and remain effective when working with complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities.
- Fluency in English and strong digital capabilities, including Microsoft Office, combined with the ability to effectively adopt AI and LLM-enabled tools in your daily work.
It would be great if you also bring:
- B2C or retail experience, particularly within a multi-market or international organization.
- Previous experience within consulting or in a strategic commercial finance business partnering role.
- Education or professional development in Commercial or Sales.
- Experience working with SAP BW/BO, COGNOS or related business intelligence and financial planning platforms.
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft Copilot or other AI-enabled productivity tools to improve financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, or insight generation.
As a regional leader, you’ll spend time connecting with teams and stakeholders across EMEALA. You should expect to travel approximately 20% of the time, predominantly within the EMEA region.
