About the Position: The Director, Global Enterprise Applications will provide dedicated leadership over a growing and increasingly strategic enterprise application portfolio. As the organization continues to modernize and simplify its technology footprint, this role will ensure enterprise applications are reliable, secure, enabled, performant, innovative, and positioned to enable global operations and organizational impact. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and execute the enterprise application strategy and portfolio roadmap in alignment with organizational priorities, business needs, and long-term technology goals. Lead governance and lifecycle management of the enterprise application portfolio, including standards for ownership, documentation, prioritization, implementation, enhancement, integration, and retirement. Oversee the operational management, support, performance, availability, and reliability of enterprise applications to ensure systems effectively support organizational operations. Lead, coach, and develop the Global Enterprise Applications team, setting clear expectations, delegating effectively, supporting growth, and fostering accountability for results. Partner with business and IT stakeholders to understand needs, align priorities, manage trade-offs, and deliver application capabilities that create measurable business value. Manage vendor and implementation partner relationships to improve accountability, service quality, delivery execution, and return on technology investments. Drive application modernization, rationalization, risk reduction, and continuous improvement efforts while ensuring enterprise applications meet security, privacy, regulatory, and operational requirements. Lead change management efforts tied to system rationalization, migration, and retirement, driving user adoption and minimizing business disruption. Actively model and contribute to Americares values, work culture and mission. Engage in and contribute to team spaces with openness, global competencies, and a growth mindset. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Key expectations for this role include: In the first 90 days: Learn and live the Americares values. Complete all required new hire onboarding trainings. Demonstrate an understanding of Americares programmatic work and business models. Review IT policies and relevant vendor agreements. Develop a deep understanding of our application portfolio. Produce a 90-day findings summary and short-term action plan, outlining key portfolio observations, risks, priorities, and initial milestones for the next 2-3 quarters. Establish a regular reporting cadence with the Senior Director, Data Management & Enterprise Applications and direct reports. In the first 6 months: Partner with Senior Director to develop and socialize an enterprise application strategy and roadmap in alignment with IT and organizational priorities. Partner with Senior Director in building organizational alignment and securing support for priorities and future resource needs. Establish governance, reporting, and portfolio management practices. Identify key operational risks and service delivery gaps. In the first year: Initiate implementation of a mature enterprise application governance and portfolio management framework. Launch and begin delivering the multi-year Enterprise Applications roadmap. Improve application reliability, stakeholder satisfaction, and portfolio visibility through defined metrics and reporting. Advance modernization, optimization, and rationalization initiatives that reduce risk, complexity, and cost. Build a high-performing Enterprise Applications team and serve as a trusted advisor to business and IT leadership. Degrees and/or experience required for the role: Extensive experience managing enterprise applications and leading enterprise applications teams Competencies required for the role include: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute an enterprise application strategy and portfolio roadmap in alignment with organizational priorities, business needs, and long-term technology goals. Demonstrated ability to lead governance and lifecycle management of an enterprise application portfolio, including standards for ownership, documentation, prioritization, implementation, enhancement, integration, and retirement. Demonstrated ability to oversee enterprise application operations across ERP/FMS, CRM, HCM, and integrated platforms, including support, performance, availability, reliability, KPI reporting, SLA management, and service delivery practices that ensure systems effectively enable organizational operations and priorities. Proven ability to coach and mentor direct reports, delegate effectively, build accountability, prioritize work against organizational goals, and lead through ambiguity, conflict, and changing priorities with sound judgment. Ability to communicate with clarity and context, actively listen, synthesize diverse perspectives, influence recommendations, and create alignment among business, IT, vendor, and leadership stakeholders. Ability to manage external vendor relationships with clear expectations and accountability. Ability to lead organizational change efforts tied to system rationalization, migration, and retirement, driving user adoption and minimizing business disruption. Experience working for or with complex, geographically dispersed organizations, with the ability to adapt information to the local context. Ability to work independently; ability to anticipate challenges and propose solutions. US work authorization without restriction and 10% travel are required for this role. Candidates must be currently living in and will continue to live in one of the following states/territories: CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, MD, MA, NC, NJ, NY, OR, PA, Puerto Rico, TN, TX, VA, or WA. These competencies are preferred but not required for the role: Experience working in development, humanitarian, or health-related contexts. ITIL or COBIT certification. Fluency in languages that are spoken in at least one of our core locations (India, Philippines, Tanzania, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Colombia, etc.), in addition to English.
