Position summary – Remote (Austin, TX or Phoenix, AZ preferred)
**This role is not eligible for immigration sponsorship**
Abracon is looking for a strategic, analytically strong leader to build and lead its global pricing function. The Director, Global Pricing, will develop the pricing strategy, governance, analytics, and commercial processes the company needs to grow profitably and compete in every market it serves.
Reporting to the Vice President, Global Distribution & EMS, this leader partners with Product Management, Sales, the global quoting team, and Finance to guide pricing decisions from product launch to end of life, in every channel Abracon sells through: distribution, EMS, and direct OEM. The job brings together commercial strategy, market insight, and hands-on analytics to instill pricing discipline, strengthen margins, and speed up data-driven decisions.
Key responsibilities:
Pricing strategy and governance
- Develop and drive a company-wide pricing strategy, and the governance behind it, that supports Abracon's strategic and financial goals.
- Define the decision rights, approval frameworks, and pricing policies every function works within, with consistent application and clear accountability.
- Own and maintain the pricing rules in Abracon's CPQ, driving quoted pricing behavior.
- Run a regular pricing cadence of product, sales, and strategic deal reviews, executive KPI reporting, and a clear escalation forum, so decisions are timely and transparent.
Price guide and price changes
- Own pricing strategy for the quarterly distributor price guide in collaboration with Product Management, which manages the parts, portfolio, and all other product attributes.
- Standardize how price guide pricing is updated, approved, and communicated.
- Put version control and audit checks in place so pricing stays accurate across channels.
- Lead price changes end to end, from timing, amount, and notice to backlog repricing and tariff or material cost recovery, so cost changes reach price and margin within a defined window.
Channel pricing process and programs
- Govern and strengthen Abracon's pricing programs, with an analytics-based approach to setting market prices, defined KPIs, a regular review cadence, and clear best practices.
- Define and lead special channel pricing programs where applicable, including program policy, pricing rules, and approvals.
- Build controls that confirm quoted prices and quantities carry through accurately from quote to order booking to distributor point-of-sale (POS) reporting.
- Work with the global sales organization to reduce pricing errors and revenue leakage, and report on program results, pricing exceptions, and margin trends.
Value-based pricing and insights
- Implement value-based pricing by market segment, channel, and product line, and bring data-driven recommendations to business cases and portfolio decisions.
- Partner with Product Management on pricing for each lifecycle stage, from new product introduction through end of life, including a deliberate approach to low-volume, long-tail parts.
- Measure price realization and leakage with price waterfall analysis, margin reporting, and tracking of discount compliance and customer agreement performance.
- Lead regular pricing reviews of the portfolio, strategic accounts, major agreements, and key distribution partners, balancing market position, profitability, and share gains.
Strategic negotiations and sales enablement
- Lead pricing strategy for large and strategic negotiations, from EMS pass-through pricing cycles to volume purchase agreements (VPAs) and long-term agreements (LTAs), setting the position and structure that account and quoting teams execute.
- Implement value-based negotiation frameworks for OEM, EMS, and distribution engagements.
- Act as a critical input to the global quoting process, working closely with the quoting team on approval thresholds, escalation paths, and response-time expectations that speed up decisions while protecting margin.
- Equip Sales with pricing playbooks, negotiation preparation, data-based price guidance, win/loss reporting, and account-level insights that support value-based selling.
Analytics, systems, and tools
- Build pricing analytics (data models, trend analysis, and executive dashboards in Power BI) and use internal and market data to find growth and margin opportunities.
- Put AI-enabled models and tools to work on better price recommendations, faster deal response, and stronger margins.
- Evaluate and improve current systems and processes and recommend new tools where they show a clear return.
Building the function
- Establish pricing as a capability across the organization, with the strategy, processes, and standards that sales, product, quoting, and channel teams work within every day.
- Start as a hands-on individual contributor and shape a growth model for the function, adding team members as business needs and results justify.
- Lead change management, training, and communication across the teams that touch price, and track adoption until new pricing processes and governance are embedded.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years in pricing, commercial strategy, or related leadership roles in semiconductors, electronic components, or electronics distribution.
- A track record of building pricing programs, governance, and commercial processes in a global technology or components company.
- Strong understanding of electronic component lifecycles, go-to-market models, and sales processes.
- Experience with distribution pricing programs and with multi-channel models across distribution, EMS, and direct OEM.
- Experience leading price increases and cost pass-through in an inflationary market.
- Experience running pricing rules in a CPQ or pricing platform such as Supplyframe CPQ, Model N, PROS, or Vendavo. Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus.
- Hands-on analytical skills in advanced Excel and Power BI or similar.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to influence Sales, Product Management, the quoting team, Finance, and channel partners without direct authority.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
- Experience building and developing pricing teams is a plus.
- Experience applying AI tools (such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude) or machine learning to pricing or commercial decisions is highly desirable.

This is a remote position. Candidates based in Austin, TX or Phoenix, AZ are preferred. Travel is up to 10%, including international travel for partner visits and price negotiations.
