Is this job info correct?

Summary We are seeking an experienced and strategic Health Economics and Outcomes Research leader to establish and lead the HEOR capability within Medical Affairs, with direct ownership of HEOR and market-access evidence strategy and close partnership on the broader Real-World Evidence (RWE) and registry strategy. The Director, HEOR will be responsible for developing an integrated HEOR and value-evidence strategy for vidofludimus calcium that supports scientific differentiation, clinical development, payer and HTA evidence needs, and launch readiness. This highly cross-functional role sits within Medical Affairs and will partner closely with clinical development, market access, biostatistics, commercial, regulatory, and other functions. The Director will translate clinical, scientific, payer, healthcare-system, and patient evidence needs into a prioritized research roadmap, ensuring that HEOR considerations are incorporated early into development and launch planning. As one of the company’s first HEOR leaders, this individual will have an opportunity to shape the function from the ground up. The successful candidate will be comfortable building fit-for-purpose infrastructure and governance, directing external research partners, working through ambiguity, and providing clear strategic recommendations in a dynamic, pre-commercial biotechnology environment. Responsibilities HEOR and value-evidence strategy Develop and maintain a prioritized, multi-year HEOR strategy — in close partnership with the broader RWE and evidence-generation function — aligned with Medical Affairs priorities, clinical-development milestones, the scientific narrative, key MS or payer congress timing, launch timing, and priority markets. Lead HEOR-related evidence-gap assessments and translate identified gaps into clear research questions, study concepts, investment recommendations, and decision points. Ensure that HEOR evidence plans address the needs of patients, healthcare professionals, payers, HTA bodies, and healthcare systems, and adjust prioritization, timing, and investment as the treatment, evidence, and HTA landscapes evolve. Real-World Evidence and Registry Partnership Partner on the development and execution of Immunic's real-world evidence strategy — including external MS registry engagement (e.g., MSBase, NARCOMS, national/regional MS registries), commercial real-world data sources (claims, EHR networks), and associated data-use agreements — to generate longitudinal effectiveness, safety, and disease-burden evidence for vidofludimus calcium. Help prioritize RWE research questions — such as comparative effectiveness, long-term disability outcomes, treatment persistence, and safety signals — and represent HEOR in relevant MS registry consortia and real-world data networks, building relationships with registry leadership and academic collaborators. Integrated evidence generation Design and oversee a portfolio of HEOR and outcomes research — including burden-of-illness, epidemiology, treatment-pattern, patient-reported outcomes/quality-of-life, and economic-modeling studies — along with the budget-impact and cost-effectiveness models that inform payer, reimbursement, and HTA discussions. Partner with Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, and Publications colleagues to integrate HEOR priorities into the broader evidence-generation and publication strategy, communicating findings through peer-reviewed publications, congress presentations, and other appropriate scientific channels. Ensure that HEOR studies and analyses are methodologically rigorous, appropriately documented, scientifically balanced, and transparent regarding assumptions, limitations, and uncertainty. Clinical-development and launch-readiness partnership Partner with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs colleagues to identify and incorporate relevant outcomes, endpoints, patient-reported measures, and evidence-generation opportunities into ongoing and future clinical programs, across both the relapsing and progressive MS programs. Provide payer, HTA, patient, and healthcare-system perspectives during protocol development, analysis planning, and data interpretation, proactively identifying evidence gaps or risks to future value demonstration and recommending mitigation strategies. Partner with Market Access to define payer and HTA evidence needs and support development of value dossiers (including AMCP-format), evidence summaries, and related models. Represent HEOR in cross-functional program and launch-readiness forums — including pre- and post-approval evidence exchange — ensuring value and outcomes evidence needs are identified early, incorporated into integrated plans, and handled consistent with legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements, while maintaining the scientific independence and non-promotional role of Medical Affairs. External engagement and insight integration Build productive relationships with external HEOR experts, academic collaborators, research networks, payers, HTA experts, and MS-focused thought leaders, representing the company in relevant scientific collaborations, advisory activities, and congresses. Partner with Field Medical and Medical Information to identify recurring external questions and insights, and translate payer, provider, patient, and field input into actionable HEOR hypotheses and research priorities. Clearly communicate the relevance, strength, and limitations of HEOR evidence — translating complex economic and outcomes concepts into clear, practical implications — for audiences with varying levels of technical expertise. Functional leadership and capability building Establish fit-for-purpose HEOR governance, planning, and decision-making processes appropriate for a lean biotechnology company, selecting and directing external research partners while maintaining internal ownership of strategy, scientific quality, and deliverables. Develop and manage the HEOR budget and resourcing model — balancing internal capacity with external partners or consultants as needs evolve — with transparent recommendations on sequencing and trade-offs. Establish meaningful measures of progress and impact for the HEOR function, including its contribution to development, Medical Affairs, payer, and launch-readiness decisions. Qualifications & Education At least eight years of progressive HEOR, outcomes research, RWE, or related evidence-generation experience in the biopharmaceutical industry (or six years with a PhD, PharmD, or MD), including experience developing or leading an integrated HEOR/value-evidence strategy and supporting late-stage development, launch readiness, or lifecycle evidence generation. Advanced degree in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, health services research, public health, pharmacy, medicine, or a related quantitative or clinical discipline (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD, MPH, MS [Master of Science], or equivalent experience) preferred. Strong knowledge of HEOR research methods, with hands-on experience designing, critically evaluating, or overseeing economic models and evidence-generation studies, and familiarity contributing to real-world evidence research (registry-, claims-, or EHR-based), including their assumptions, limitations, and uncertainty. Working knowledge of the US payer landscape and familiarity with relevant global HTA evidence requirements. Experience directing external research partners and managing scope, budget, timelines, scientific quality, and deliverables. Strong written and verbal communication skills — you'll need to translate complex economic concepts for audiences ranging from statisticians to commercial leadership. Comfort operating in a smaller, pre-commercial biotech environment with less-defined roles and shifting priorities, and demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive decisions without relying on formal authority.
